Buy Sony CFD-S05 CD Radio Cassette Recorder with Batteries and Auxiliary Cord (6 feet) Now
I bought this as a gift for my husband. We were searching for a radio such as this with a digital display as we hated the analog distortion. There are very few radios that offer a digital display as we searched for quite a long time before finding this one. The sound quality is superb and he likes the versatility of having the CD player. We also were surprised that radios still come equipped with cassette players, but this one does. This a great versatile radio and with this one, those old cassettes can again be enjoyed! The item was purchased as a gift. The person who received it was immensely pleased with it as it has a cassette player in it. It was able to replace 3 players and have them in one playerWant Sony CFD-S05 CD Radio Cassette Recorder with Batteries and Auxiliary Cord (6 feet) Discount?
It looked nice kind of a retro feeling all around. The sound was even better than expected. It is being used in a family members workout room, so they wanted all these features.
I would definitely recommend it.I had a 30+ year old Sony "Boom Box" model CFS-209 that finally crapped out after schlepping it hundreds of times to the beach in Florida over the years. Now THAT was a great quality Sony...Substantial case, REAL bass, every button labeled, wonderful sound AND quality. And not much bigger than the new one.
Now I needed a replacement to listen to cassettes of my now deceased Mother playing the organ, and reciting scriptures. As well, I was a professional "pop" organist and made a lot of different tapes since the 70's. I bought this because it is a Sony. Unfortunately, it does NOT come up to the quality or sound of the old one. The plastic case is light and flimsy, cassette buttons not labeled, the handle is hollow plastic, the volume is button controlled, so when you push them, you push the unit away from you...and I couldn't hear much of a change with bass reflex on. The sound is "tinny", but everything works. I think the price is a bit too much for this kind of quality. The batteries did NOT come with it. After several attempts at tuning the FM, I've decided to return it. When tunred off, it does NOT remember last station, but returns to 87.5, and you have to go through the laborious task of searching and stopping at EVERY strong signal to get to the one you want. You can set presets, but there are not enough. Too bad. I'm going to purchase an Emerson at 2/3 the cost, that at least has labels and a tuning wheel.
