Some say a DVD player is a DVD player, well that could be true in some cases but not in this one. The Coby does what its supposed to, it plays movies but the remote looks like it was designed by a three year old, its rectangular with about 30 buttons, all the same size lined up like soldiers, all black on a black background, in other words when you pick it up you can't glance at it to perform a task and press the right button, they all look the same. FYI you can't program it to work with a universal remote. I went to their web site to get the manufactures code to try and set it up on my universal remote and they said, "use the (piece of junk) remote that came with it." Bummer

I was really looking forward to this DVD player. However, when I turned it on to watch a movie, I actually thought I was watching a silent film. Volume up to maximum and I still couldn't hear. I watched the same movie in another DVD player, with no issue so it was definitely the DVD player. I also checked other movies in the Colby. No sound. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone.
