- TV Cam makes widescreen, high-definition (720p) video calls from your HDTV
- Requires Logitech Revue with Google TV, Logitech Vid HD, and high-speed Internet connection
- Call any webcam for free with Logitech Vid free video software for Mac, PC, or Logitech Revue
- Comes with a wide-angle, Carl Zeiss lens with autofocus and 5x digital zoom
- Sounds clear through noise reducing, echo canceling audio and two digital directional microphones
But for 100-150 dollars it just isn't remotely worth it. You HAVE to use their video service. So you have to have anyone that you want to talk to have the logitech account as well, and that is just dumb. Especially with their partnership with Google.
Also with interoperability with google talk or skype you should be able to use this as a speaker phone too which would be a HUGE plus, but without it it is an overpriced single use video camera.
If you have other family using a logitech camera AND their video calling service then it is worth it, otherwise wait and see what happens.
I returned mine after using and researching and being unable to find any definitive details about when this might change.

The HDTV Cam is a great accessory for the Revue. The picture/video quality is very good. The lighting in my room is mediocre, and yet the picture still comes out looking significantly better than with the web cams built into the MacBook and ThinkPad which I use in the same room.
Build quality is excellent. This is something apparent from when you take the camera out of the box. The casing feels solid, and there is a steady hinge on the back of the camera that you can use to prop it onto your flat screen. There is just enough tension for the camera to feel secure on the TV set.
If only Logitech can update the Revue software to support video conferencing with users on Skype, Google Talk, or even FaceTime, rather than requiring Logitech Vid HD accounts, I can bump this review up to be 5 stars.

The webcam is an outstanding addition! The ability to add your peers per your choice and have live video chats with high quality streaming video and audio from your home TV is unbeatable. I'm hoping that my contacts from Gmail will be able to be integrated providing me the ability to video chat with people via their smartphones and PC's too.Simple to install, plug and play. Zoom quality is phenomenal. Has the ability to pan and tilt while streaming. Not too obtrusive design wise in the room aesthetically. I strongly recommend this unit with the Logitech Revue. This is a must have with the system.

I bought this for $150 assuming that it would work with Skype. Unfortunately, it does not! I have never bothered to use it because it only works with Logitech proprietary video service and Nobody I know on this planet uses the Logitech software. Everyone uses Skype. What a joke!Be warned: You will be surprised how weird your living room suddenly looks. The Logitech TV Cam is packaged nicely (the attached velcro cable tie was a nice touch). It's very easy to connect and setup. Amazingly easy.
I love the remote control zooming in and out, and panning back and forth. The picture quality was fantastic. We connected with someone on her computer and she said it looked like she was watching TV, not a jittery webcam.
My concern was over privacy issues, and whether or not you could be invisible to others. I don't always need to be "available".
The answer is yes, it's like changing your status on your IM account.
It's a high-quality product, but again, you'll suddenly be thinking about filling up some blank space on your walls with artwork.
I recommend placing the webcam lower, like at the bottom of the TV to not get your ceiling in the picture.
