The most important point is that the musical quality of the recordings from this tiny device is awesome. Full frequency range, very clean, and you can set the EQ for both input and output. It's got lots of options, but is still pretty user-friendly. The small screen is very readable, but is not a touch-screen--all controls are by buttons and switches, for positive action. One reason I chose this one is that it comes with a remote control. You can set it up out front when you're playing, and remotely start and stop it, and adjust the volume level, if you see the peak light flashing too much. At outdoor music festivals, I mount it on top of my straw hat, with a short bolt coming up into the 1/4-20 thread on the bottom. Yes, I am a geek, but it works great!

I was thinking to purchase the Sony one, but that is more expensive($500) and doesn't support SD card. The Yamaha is more cost effective. Before received this, I was wondering what I could get for 2xx dollars.

The appearance of the device is pure plastic, looks cheap. However when I turned on have few try to record my Guitar play, I was shocked about the sound quality. Excellent!

The problem is from the plastic feel device appearance, I don't know how long it will last. Anyway, half of the SONY price, I could buy another one if it's broken.

I reviewed the feedbacks on the web before purchased this one. I didn't find any negative feedback, that's why I bought this.
