I bought my first Focusrite ISA828 preamp and A/D conversion card 3 years ago and they have been amazing. I now own 2 of these units for a total of 16 channels of supreme pre-amplification. The quality is on par with anything out there at an incredible price. Worth every penny and much more! People are blown away when they hear my drum recordings, as well as other instruments (bass, guitar, vocals, horns...). This is my studio's work horse.

The sound you can expect from these units is transparent, yet warm. To compare the difference between this unit and my previous PreSonus Firestudio: it is a difference between a movie shot on film and a cartoon. You can hear all the subtle nuances, so you better make sure your instruments is perfectly in tune and sounding great on its own as this preamp will capture that.
