It can't record 5+ hours. It uses a 90 minute cassette tape which only records 45 minutes on each side and you have to manually turn it over after the first 45 minutes is used up. Once the first side of the tape is filled, the recorder automatically stops recording until you flip the cassette tape over. If you are recording telephone conversations then you only get 45 minutes and then it stops. So in reality you are only getting 45 to 90 minutes of record time at the most. And then only if you are right there when the first side fills up and you manually turn the cassette tape over to the other side.
