My Panasonic Plasma TV has a digital audio out jack that usually needs a Panasonic K7CXGYC00002 which goes for about 50 bucks and then a normal TOSlink cable between it and the receiver/soundbar. There is one of those "adaptor cables" in the original cable pack but my TV was a discounted floor model, so guess what was not included... Panasonic does not actually give the specification of the socket as to whether it is optical or electrical. But, in the dark, there was a tell-tale red laser dot coming from it. So, I decided to experiment, and THIS cable is exactly what is needed to hook the TV (mini-plug end) to the receiver directly and save 50 bucks into the bargain. Works perfectly!
