Your On-The-Go Filming with FLEXCOPE Windshield Mount for Flip UltraHD Camera, Kodak PlaySport Vide

Your On-The-Go Filming with FLEXCOPE Windshield Mount for Flip UltraHD Camera, Kodak PlaySport Video Camera, iPhone 4S, HTC 4G LTE, HTC Vivid, HTC Inspire, Droid RAZR, and Samsung Galaxy S III could not find any camera mount for a standard camera. I saw this on amazon and it was exactly what I needed for it. Works great.

This product was delivered quickly and was in good condition. The directions were lacking but the flexcope was easy enough to figure out. I am useing it for a droid razr and my itouch both fit perfectly because of the holding device. The holding device is a little flimsy but it works good enough to use. Besides that the rest of the product is well made and likes very strong. I would recommend buying this for mounting your device.

Best bang for your buck. However the cellphone adapter has more play than the screw type adapter. Of course because it has less moving parts but still impressed but the sturdyness.

I was concerned that the weight of my camcorder would eventually make it fall off my windshield but it's been there for months. Only downside is I have to mount my camcorder upside down because of the slant of my windshield. Tried mounting it on my dashboard but it isn't going to stay there.

And now that I have a droid phone I can use the other attachment to put my phone on the mount when I want to.

Recently used the mount on the interior of my vehicle with a Canon 990is... it worked great and was very sturdy. I have not used the phone optional mount, but I'm sure it works as advertised. Very pleased with it and the price is right.. thanks!

My Piano

My Piano
  • Piano-learning software with animated character, Pam the Piano
  • 100+ lessons taught by former Juilliard School of Music instructor
  • Animated keyboard; interactive feedback; full-motion videos
  • Interactive games; audio and MIDI tracks with adjustable speed
  • For kids ages 6 and up; metronome and digital recorder included

I started teaching my 5 year old daughter piano using the Faber My First Piano Adventure books a few months ago, and I saw this and thought it would be a fun addition to our lessons. We just used it for the first time yesterday, but she REALLY likes it so far and could play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" just after using it this one day. We hooked it up to our new Casio Celviano digital piano and as she played, it would give her a score and tell her what she did wrong (played a note too late, played the wrong first note, etc.). At first this disappointed her because she wanted to score 100% but I encouraged her that that was the point of the score...so she will learn from her mistakes and get better scores as she practices more and makes progress. I also explained how great it is that this scores her on her rhythm so someday she could play with other instruments or accompany singers or choirs if she wants to because there are a lot of people who can play the right notes but if you can't play in the right timing, then you can't play with other people. My daughter liked the software, including the talking piano, the instructional videos, and listening to the audio samples. I also like that you can print the screen so I could print "Mary Had a Little Lamb" so she can practice even when I'm not right there with the computer. My daughter is in kindergarten and is learning to read pretty well, but even if she was older I wouldn't turn any kid loose with learning to play piano. They could learn too many bad habits with their posture, hand positions, fingering, etc. (things the software can't score) if there's not an adult sitting with them to correct them, and those habits would be hard to break in the future and could prevent them from really excelling at piano in years to come. So, I did sit with my daughter during it, but I was planning to do that since I'm her teacher and it was our lesson yesterday. I would recommend this software as it brought a new level of fun to learning.

I found this to be a great product in teaching kids to learn to play. I am 30 with no music abilities and I have learned to play part of a song in the first few mins. My daughter is 4 and she loves to watch and play the games at the end of each lesson. Then she goes to the keyboard and tries. I did not expect her to learn since it is recommended for age 6 and over, but the interest is there and she will learn someday.

I have Windows XP and no blank screens

I bought this for my 8 yr old dd. She really enjoys it. It;s great for beginners and keeps her attention. The only drawback is being on the computer, but I knew that when I purchased it. My 6 yr old son also enjoys using this program. We haven't used the option where you can plug your keyboard in yet.

I purchased this software as a supplement for my 6-year old's regular piano lessons. The animated lessons are fine, but my big complaint is the feature where you can play songs along with the computer (using a keyboard). There is a scoring system but no feedback about what notes were missed, or what rhythms were wrong. Despite lots of fiddling with the software settings, I could not remove the time lag between pressing the key and seeing the response on the computer screen. Worst of all, the games are meant to be played with a computer keyboard, not a piano keyboard! For example, if you see the note "C", you press the letter C, not the piano C. What is the point of that? The software still depends heavily on regular computer commands and mouse keys. You cannot drive the navigation purely on the piano keyboard. That means the piano keyboard and the computer keyboard needs to be hooked up and accessible. This is really confusing for children.

I play piano and I don't know why this product has such high ratings. I do not recommend it for either teaching or supplementing piano lessons!

GoPro HD Hero Naked

GoPro HD Hero NakedThis is close to being a perfect example of a wearable/mountable POV camera. But unfortunately, close isn't quite good enough.

The pros:

Video is awesome, in all of the modes.

Stills are very good quality, the timelapse feature is fantastic.

It's waterproof.

The mounting options are (almost) limitless.

The cons:

It's awkward to set up. Menu is like something from 20 years ago.

Firmware issues have yet to be addressed by the manufacturer. This is inexcusable as the camera has been available for sale for nearly a year.

Audio is useless. They could have saved weight and cost by just not including a mic. The only instance where it even sort of works is when mounted right near a loudish sound you want to highlight, such as an engine.

There are too many instances where "Macgyvering" is required to get the desired result. The quick release mount rattles so you need to tape the base plate, the non waterproof back allows too much wind noise, so you need to tape over the openings, the shutter button rattles, so you need to tape over that. Moral of the story: BUY TAPE.

The support by the manufacturer is not quite adequate. I realize it's a small start up company, but for all the issues with the use of the camera and the handling/editing of the files, they really need to release some conclusive videos or articles to address these concerns.

People who might find this camera useful:

Auto racing enthusiasts

Mountain Bikers

Sailors

Hobbyist videographers looking for those unique shots

People who will likely be disappointed and frustrated by this camera:

Pretty much anyone who thinks they'll be using it as a camcorder.

People who aren't really tech savvy and/or have an older computer

People who don't like to tinker and engineer solutions to make it do what they want.

******UPDATE******* ******UPDATE******* ******UPDATE******* ******UPDATE******* ******UPDATE*******

As of September 7, 2010, Gopro released the new firm ware for the camera. It seems to have fixed most of the bugs/issues. It also provides the option for upside down mounting.

I have used this camera a couple of times since receiving it for Christmas. I have used both the strap mount for my vented bicycle helmet as well as the permanent stick on mount for my dual sport motorcycle helmet. In both cases, the mounts work as well as the camera. I still have the previous generation GoPro HERO in standard definition, but not in the wide field of view lens configuration like the current HD version. I like the wide field of view of this HD model. It is great at giving a very good view of both the trail as will as your handlebar movements while riding both my mountain bike or motorcycle. The quality of the video is fantastic. The files do get large, but that is to be expected with the high resolution of this camera. I have been using a 16GB SDHC card and have filed up about half of it on one battery charge. I would recommend a high speed card reader to improve the download times from the card. A 12 min video was nearly a gigabyte. The battery last I think longer than the previous standard definition camera which ran on AAA batteries. I think that I will buy an additional battery someday for long rides with lots of action.

The only reason I have not given it a full 5 stars is the difficulty in reading the small status screen with all the various modes it has. The same issue I have with the standard definition HERO. The icons that tell you if you are in burst, still, timed, or video mode are very small across the top of the display. The numbers to tell you the number of pictures or videos taken are much larger. It is just difficult if you have the camera mounted on top of your helmet and you try and look in the mirror on your bike to see if the camera is on and what mode it is. You have to use the select button on the front to both turn the camera on and select the right mode. The shutter button is on top and is easy to operator even with gloves. It is not difficult to read the display if you are holding the camera in front of you, but much more difficult when mounted on top of your helmet. You can unclip the camera from the mount, but that can be difficult when it is on top of your helmet.

I am looking forward to the expansion port options being available, like the LCD screen to view the videos in the field. I am also thinking of investing in the chest strap mount so I can get different view over the handle bars as will as making it easier to see the small status display. Other than the small icons telling you which mode, this is a very nice camera that takes very high quality action videos. It is very small and light and easy to use when you have it in the right mode. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone wanting action videos of their bicycling, motorcycle, or skiing activities.

I bought this HD camera to replace a VholdR Wearable Camcorder (Black) which didn't survive getting run over by my SUV. The Hero is a well constructed camera, very solid feeling with quality construction.

Pros: The camera has four modes video (in several resolutions), still pictures, self-timer still pictures, and interval photos (pictures every few seconds). The lens gives a tremendously wide wild view which is nice for HD's 9:16. It will shoot 1080p, 960p 720p (at 30 and 60 frames per second), and 480 (at 60 frames per second) line resolutions. It uses standard SDHC memory cards and has an internal battery which recharges via a USB cable. The recorded audio is very good both inside and outside of the motor sports waterproof case that came with my kit. Video is relatively good, not as vivid as a dedicated camcorder but the resolution is good. My kit came with a variety of mounts and a suction cup mount for windows and car body use. The waterproof case comes with two backs, one that is watertight and one that is not for better audio when waterproof use isn't required. The kit comes with connectors for connecting the camera up to an HDTV monitor (component video) or a TV monitor (composite video). A neat feature in the menu is that you can flip both the video and still photos so you can shoot with the camera upside down without a problem.

Cons: The quick release mounts have a bit of wiggle to them. The back of the waterproof case can be difficult to lock closed. The menu system is a bit troublesome to use as there are only two buttons and three LCD characters to use. Once set you'll not have to go into the menu very often.

Future: There's a connector on the rear that GoPro plans on using for an external battery or a monitor. Neither are available at the time of this review but they are being worked on.

In use on the trail the mounts worked very well. I used the suction cup primarily to mount the camera to my windshield, bumper, side body panel, and side window. Across rugged rocky trails the camera held firm and the video came out very well. The simple interface was easy enough to use. One button to turn the camera on and select the mode and another to stop and start the recording.

the good...

Great package. Plenty of accessories for customized mounting. nice small and simple design. strong housing, yet clasp can be broken easily if not properly aligned and forced to close. Amazing picture quality. setup menu a little dated.

the bad...

Was bought for its waterproof qualities in preparation for a Fiji trip. HOWEVER, contrary to what GoPro touts, it is not great for underwater. The reason is the housing curvature over the lense curvature combined with water defraction creates blurry images. this is only found in the GoPro FAQs. very misleading. do an internet search on this. had to buy a special housing with flat lense from eyeofmine.com at $80. Now picture quality underwater is the same as above water. this is where my two stars came from.

If you want it for underwater and don't mind buying a new housing for $80, then I recommend, if not, don't buy.

If you are using this not for its waterproof qualities, then I recommend.

I am extremely happy with this camera. I use it on my GSXR-1000 in the twisty roads for great action HD video as well as mount it to my radio controlled sailplane for great HD video of the flying area. The picture quality is astounding and shake free. The video is eye watering on a plasma TV or wide screen projector during playback.

The kit is very complete with a large assortment of mounts. I'm surprised that there are so many mounts and that they don't try to charge extra for them in an "additional" kit. Supposedly the camera is waterproof to 180 feet and comes in a waterproof primary case (that can be removed).

Overall, I don't know how they can deliver so much product for so little cost, I am completely happy....get your own :)

UPDATE 09/05/2010

I am having an issue that appears to be fairly common with other GoPro HD users. When you finish a video and hit the shutter button to stop recording, the video gets corrupted due to some issue with the camera, the SD card, or a file allocation issue with the firmware. I am using a high quality Class 4 SD card and know it works fine with other hardware. I am seriously unhappy that after a weekend of great video, the SD card is corrupted after multiple reformats and everything else in the book. I understand a firmware is in progress but has been so for a long long time. I recommend this camera AFTER they get the issues fixed.

UPDATE 09/06/10

Instead of updating the 09/05/10 report, I have found somewhat of a solution. I found that you must format the SDHC card with the GoPro HD(which I was doing) BUT pay attention to the red status light by the lens when the format is complete. If after the format the red light does NOT blink red three times then the format was successful and the videos won't get corrupted. In my case, every time I formatted the 32GB SDHC, I got three red blinking lights at the end of the format. The camera acted like the card was OK by displaying OOO for the video but it would corrupt 100% of the time. So, in my case, the 32GB SDHC was faulty. Pay attention to the status lights, this information was not in the manual that I could find.

ANOTHER UPDATE :( 10/18/2010

The same problems resurfaced. I would go out and take awesome videos, the camera acted like everything worked well. i plug in the camera to the computer via USB and it says "You must reformat the card" I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA until GoPro fixes this issue that appears quite common (researching the issue on the internet), extremely frustrating... YMMV (Your mileage may vary)

UPDATE 11/1/2010

GoPro finally sent me a replacement camera and it works fine, I think there is a significant number of defective cameras in the system but they will work with you and eventually send you another one.

UPDATE 2/14/11

I thought that the new GoProHD camera sent to me to replace the original defective one was working. It did for about a month. Once again, it started corrupting videos and costing me lots of grief. Imagine if you climbed Mt. McKinley and got to the top, take your "hero" pictures, go all the way down, and discover that your camera screwed up, that is the kind of frustration I'm talking about. The camera hosed me on too many shots like that to put up with anymore. I'm probably going to take this thing to the shooting range and blow it to pieces. Buyer beware.

++++ ANOTHER UPDATE 5/25/11

LESSONS LEARNED: I did update the GoProHD to the latest firmware (v01.01.54) I also tried yet another SD card. Perhaps the combination of new firmware and the Patriot 16GB Class 6 SDHC did the trick. I learned that this camera is extremely picky about SD cards. If you're are having trouble with your video getting corrupted, update the firmware and try another SD card. Once you get the right card, the corruption issues should stop. I have been using the camera a lot for two weeks since the new firmware and Patriot 16GB SD card and have had no issues. I changed my star rating from a one to a three.

Western Digital WDAVP00BE USB 2.0 1080p HDTV Media Player w/HDMI - Turn Your USB Hard/Flash Drive I

Western Digital WDAVP00BE USB 2.0 1080p HDTV Media Player w/HDMI - Turn Your USB Hard/Flash Drive Into A Media Player!I bought and used this unit for a few months. And I really thought it was great. After about 10 weeks the remote stopped working. I tried new batteries, checked the battery placement in the remote, and several other things. And nothing. I could get the unit to power up if I plugged it into the power outlet, and I could get the on-screen display. But the remote just would not work. And there is NO other universal programmable remote that has a code for WD. So you are stuck with a cheap non-working remote. When I called WD on Sept 13, it seems that this is not warrantied. Sorry folks, just got to buy a new WD brand remote. And the remote is really cheaply made! It seemed fragile when I first got it out of the box, and it proved to be just that. BAD. I cannot recommend the unit just because of the remote. Too bad, really. They had a nice thing going, but will not back it up.

There is nothing better than being able to carry a weeks worth of entertainment in my pocket on a flash drive and tiny Western Digital player, connect it to the TV, and enjoy HD movies and TV shows without a big bulky DVD player. I also take it camping All I need is a flat screen computer monitor, the WD player, a car battery and a small inverter and I can get about 40 hours of prime entertainment while camping in the woods without power. It's also great for when the power goes off at home. It has no motors, no moving parts, and is pocket sized and draws only 12 volts a miracle. I really got a good price too.

Toshiba 23HLV84 TheaterWide 23" 16:9 HDTV LCD TV/DVD Combo with HDMI Input

Toshiba 23HLV84 TheaterWide 23' 16:9 HDTV LCD TV/DVD Combo with HDMI InputI'm amazed at how many great reviews this device has, given my experience. I've just bought and returned one for work. Sure, there were people (not many) who couldn't see the problems, but I don't see how any videophile could stand looking at it (turned on and playing a DVD internally, at least).

First, the integration is really bad. Put a DVD in and it turns on (of course). It does NOT, however, switch to DVD mode. Then when you manually switch modes you have to wait for it to spin up the DVD, I guess it thinks you just put the disk in for storage or something... The few controls for settings are vague, limited, and there's a 100% disconnect between the player and the screen. Yet another example: ejecting a disk while it's off... *if* it works you have to hold down the button quite a while, it turns the TV all the way on, *then leaves it on once the disk is out*...

It's an HD screen, and I'm guessing with an HD input or DVD player with HDMI out it'd look great. That's because an HDMI out DVD player will almost certainly have some kind of 'upres' feature, whereas the built-in player appears to have none whatsoever. The image is simply crudely stretched to be big enough to fill the screen, and the result on the 23" LCD looks far worse then DVI out of a $199 player to a 50" plasma we also have here. The settings of course give you no control over this process, no way to view the image at native pixel resolution or any other tweaks that one may want.

They really spared every expense with the DVD player by the way, I have never used a DVD player so slow to respond to commands, such as selecting a chapter from the DVD menu, and when it does it usually visually screws it up, starting to start, pausing (maybe showing the menu again for a couple frames) then actually starting, etc.

Finally, there is a warning included INSIDE the box that the HDMI input is not for use with computers, I don't know if they screwed up the HDMI implementation or are saying that because there's no pixel orbiter or what, but that and the fact that this is one of the only consumer electronic devices I've seen in years that is limited to 60Hz power only are yet more ways this unit disappointed me. In the end I was very relieved to be able to return it.

I got this today and am in love. What a great set! The progressive DVD on the side is a nice space saving touch, but this set is awesome for two reasons, picture and aesthetics of the cabinet. I also love the carrying handle in the back. I bought the optional wall bracket, but since we are now considering putting in place of our older 35" 4:3 analog, I haven't mounted it yet, but am using it on the stand little stand that comes with the set. It is completely inoobtrusive, exactly what I had in mind, all about the picture, looks like a piece of art.

I was concerned that after watching an older 35" 4x3 analog set and going to a 23" 16:9 the image would seem tiny to to me, but I realized that the viewing area on the old 35" 4:3 for movies on DVD is not really any larger when you consider the black bars, so I am losing nothing, and gaining in space and image quality.

The set has an HDMI connection, which I have yet to try, as I don't have any components with this capability, but since I plan to get a DVR with this, I wanted to have it. I can say that one of the faults of the 9 year old Hitachi 35" that I had was that it only had one "S" connection, and although that was "State of the Art" at the time, it was quickly not enough to accomodate my needs as I acquired new products like a DVD and home theater.

Anyway, I highly recommend this, I was incredibly impressed with the out of the box performance and the great contrast, and think that this will be a best seller for Toshiba.

Bought back in May 2005 for about 1047.00 at the time, one of the best DVD /LCD TV's I had seen. No issues with dead Pixels yet, or anything... Good sound, Very clean picture as long as you are viewing from at least 5 Feet, have it in bedroom at 8-9 feet for viewing and its better than my 50 inch Sony * DVD is a bit clunky and looks to be better than 480p + but not up in the HD higher ranges, but still much better than straight Satellite signals! I would still buy this exact TV for the same reasons _ Light weight_ great Picture, good sound_ and fits where you need it to !

I run a B&B and bought this unit to use wall mounted. Can you believe that whomever designed the remote control neglected to put a DVD Eject button on it and when wall mounted all TV mounted control buttons are unseen because they are on the top. Imagine my delight having to explain to every guest in that unit at every check-in, how to locate the DVD eject button. I am on this site now because I was looking for -and not findinga Toshiba troubleshooting information section as the integrated DVD now makes a grinding noise but refuses to eject the DVD and has no external pin socket to try to reset it. Unless you live across the street from a repair site choose a set without an integrated DVD.

As several other users have posted, the DVD on this unit stopped reading DVD's within 6 weeks of purchase. Now _I_ have to remove the television from its wall mount, pack up a fragile, flat-screen television for shipping, and pay for shipping to a Toshiba. I am now crossing my fingers that they will fix it, instead of, e.g., breaking it, or doing nothing to it and sending it back to me. Had I known, I would easily have paid an extra $150 or so for a different brand.

Sony MZ-N420D Psyc Net MD Walkman Digital Music Player

Sony MZ-N420D Psyc Net MD Walkman Digital Music Player
  • Store 5 Hours of music on 1 standard MiniDisc
  • Record MP3s or CDs at up to 32x speed
  • Uses high-tech, affordable MiniDiscs (1 included)
  • Up to 56 Hours battery life with 1 AA battery
  • The Psyc Net's recording features and bundled software are not compatible with the Mac OS operating system.

First I am a huge Sony Minidisc fan and have used md's for a long time. Entering the mp3 and wma time, I decided to get a net md to play these files. Unfortunetly Sony forgot to give their users an easy way to transfer their files to the net md. Here's why;

First even though the package says it plays mp3's and wma's, it actually means it will convert them to Atrac then store it to the player. Taking too much of your time.

Second it doesn't even convert all wma's or mp's. Most of my files are wma and it didn't even convert 75% of them.

Third the device soemtimes thinks it's full when not and heres the kicker, you must use batteries to to do any tranfers. Most mp3 player uses the power of your computer to do that.

Honestly I have never been so mad at sony. I do still love most of their products but they should have put more effort into this.

Sorry customers, but if you want an easy to use and better quality mp3 player look at anything other than net md. If Sony was smart they would have made the Net MD like a mass storage device and let the customer decide if they want to convert their music to atrac.

I ended up buying a 40gb Creative Labs Zen. Very easy and also lets me store files other than music too.

I just bought this about a week ago, so take that in stock when you read this review. I plan to update it after I've owned it for longer. BUT here are my thoughts so far.

PROs:

--Over 5 hours of music on one MD

--Sound is very good, even at the highest compression rate it's just barely below CD-quality

--MDs are relatively inexpensive (about $2 apiece)

--Low price compared to most mp3 players

--Bass and treble are adustable

--Transferring music to MD is fairly simple and fast

--MDs can store track information (album name, song name, etc) and display it on the player

--Unit is very small (it fits quite comfortably in my pocket WITH my cell phone)

--HUGE battery life when playing music

--MDs are very easily rewritable

CONS:

--MD has limited memory for storing track information (normally not a problem but if you go much beyond about 80-90 songs it may not store names for all the tracks or albums)

--Actual transferring of songs to MD takes up quite a bit of battery power

--"Shuffle" setting does not shuffle among different groups (albums), but only in one group at a time (probably not a big deal to most people)

--No voice recorder (I don't care, but some people probably do)

--Very small display screen (but I got used to it pretty fast)

--Headphones are crap--use another pair

A good value. The battery life (1 AA) is incredible. All files (MP3 etc.) must be converted to the Sony file format but the included software does this. There are two programs. "MD Simple Burner" is the easiest and fastest way to get music from your audio CD's burned on a MD(3 to 5 minutes per CD.) "Sonic Stage" will convert various file types (mp3, wav, wma) to the Sony format and transfer it to the MD. There are 3 different transfer modes, SP, LP2 and LP4. SP provides the best quality while LP4 the smallest file. I don't download music from the internet so I can't verify this feature. The Good: It is cheap (mine was $100,) reliable, small, each disk holds 70-80 songs (5 hours of music) in LP4 form, good sound quality, disks cost less than $2, good battery life and has good anti-skip protection. The Bad: Sonic Stage is slow, awkward and unstable, tiny display, confusing manual, other than headphones and a MD, no other accessories are included.

It is smaller and much cheaper than an IPOD and has much longer battery life. I use an inexpensive rechargeable NiMH battery. I use it in my car (a Miata) with a wireless FM transmitter. It is small enough to lock in the console and plays through the radio well.

Want Sony MZ-N420D Psyc Net MD Walkman Digital Music Player Discount?

I was given this as a gift and especially since it was given to me, I love this thing. It's the poor man's ipod, who wants to spend $200+ when they could get this for like $60-80. It holds up to 50*almost* 80 songs per disk I believe (each of my disks have a different amount-depending on the length of the songs),is skip proof, sound is great, and it's easy to transfer music onto. I find no fault with it. I've had it for over a year and it's held up beautifully, even with being dropped. So personally I think it's a great gadget to have if you can't afford or don't want to splurge on the oh so hyped ipod.

Just the type of quality you would expect from a Sony product. This MiniDisc player is durable, sleek, and gets the job done very nicely. The only complaints I have is with the SonicStage software, but none from the Player itself. My problem with the software is just something that gets on my nerves, the fact that once I convert to LP4, I can't transfer it back to my library. Everything else in this is great, I can fit over 3-5 hours of music, less if I want to keep the full titles of songs, and amazing battery life. I listen to my MD Player about 1-2 hours a day, and have to replace the batter about once ever 1.5-2 months (one AA, how awesome). The MD Player is small, light, and doesn't skip (not that I've experienced) so it is PERFECT for joggers that don't want to risk the harddrive of an MP3 Jukebox. MiniDiscs are really cheap and easy to take in and out, come in cool colors, easy to store, and pretty durable. Also, MiniDisc players can stand more extreme temperatures. The only thing I wish that this had that it doesn't is a backlight, but that would ruin the good battery life.

Harman Kardon CDR 20 CD Player/Recorder

Harman Kardon CDR 20 CD Player/Recorder
  • Supports CD-R and CD-RW (rewritable) formats
  • Records to CD-R at 4 times normal playback speed
  • Audiophile-grade AKM 24-bit/96 kHz digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters for superior sound quality
  • CD record from an external CD player
  • Dual-disc changer plays 2 discs simultaneously for multiroom use

I've had this unit for about six weeks now and have been on a binge of copying, dubbing, editing CD-Rs from LPs, CDs & CD-Rs in my collection and on loan from friends: compilations & copies for myself and gifts for friends. I figure I've burned about a hundred CDs at this point & this unit has performed well. I've used most of the features this component offers & I find it works reliably. I'm very impressed with the sound and overall efficiency. Compared with the Harman Kardon 5-CD changer (model FL8380, I believe I bought one of those at the same time & it died on me after a month & had to be replaced by the dealer I bought it from) it lives up to the Harman Kardon reputation. I don't know if this unit will wear out a year or two down the line, but right now I'd recommend it to anyone...

Well, I had the unit about a year before one of the decks started glitching out So I replaced it with a great Sony combo 5-disc changer / dual deck recorder RCD W-500C The Sony outperforms the HK in features, functioning, and just about every area except looks Harman Kardon makes great receivers, but you can forget about their CD players & recorders...

Buy Harman Kardon CDR 20 CD Player/Recorder Now

I bought my unit about 3-4 years ago, and it worked fine for the first 6 months, although not all cdrs would play in other cd players. Then, when recording LPs, it began to encode static-like noise onto the cdrs, and finally even direct copies of cds were unlistenable. It was sent to the HK CA repair shop, where it languished for nearly 2 months before the software was reloaded. I finally got it back, and it seemed to work fine, but I have recently noticed older cdrs I recorded now have a similar static noise. Too much money and trouble to be worth a postive recommendation.

The CDR20 is easy to use and the quality of sound CAN be beautiful. I bought the unit and immediately noticed low level static when I made a mix but thought it had to do with my connections. Then, I made an exact duplicate of a CD and experienced no problem. For a number of reasons, I did not make any recordings for several months, using the unit daily as a CD player. I recently bought a new receiver and connections and have repeatedly had problems with static something like a "scratched record" sound. Harman Kardon's internet service has been great. I learned thay have had a "few" similar complaints that were fixed by upgrading the software. So, the unit is on the way to a service center to be repaired. We'll see. I hope it gets fixed, because I do see the potential for easy use and enjoyment of the unit.

Want Harman Kardon CDR 20 CD Player/Recorder Discount?

I have had this unit for 6 months and it is really easy to use. My only problems are that there is static on some recorded discs. It sometimes refuses to read it's own recorded cd's. CD's wear out (I record them and play them for a month or two, then all of a sudden, the CD ceases to play on all CD players.) This Recorder is a total piece of junk. I suggest you look elsewhere! If they can't get CD-R's going, what makes them think they can get DVD-R's to work???

This cd recorder is easy to operate and sounds great when copying an entire cd. It picks up static when recording a compilation (mix)of songs from multiple cds. Harman Kardon's service people were great when I initially contacted them via email, and they promptly gave me instructions on returning the unit to their service center, European Hi-Tech, in Torrance, CA. After a month, I received the unit back, hooked it up, and had exactly the same problem. I've emailed Harman Kardon twice within the past five days, and they have not responded yet. With a little research, I have discovered this is not an uncommon problem. I suspect some sort of manufacturer's defect that cannot be repaired, and most people just live with it while others finally give up. I intend to have the unit repaired or replaced without a lot of additional expense and time. Depending upon how Harman Kardon responds, it may very well be my last purchase of anything they make.

Acumen Disc 1 to 3 Target DVD CD Disc Recorder Duplicator Machine with Sony Writers Burners Drives

Acumen Disc 1 to 3 Target DVD CD Disc Recorder Duplicator Machine with Sony Writers Burners DrivesI like the product. My disappointment is, that from my understanding of the description, I thought it was a combination recorder and duplicator. I was thinking that I would be able to connect it to our tuner and record the spiritual address during church services and make duplicates of the recorded CD to distribute to the congregants upon request. Otherwise, I like the speed and clarity it duplicates pre-recorded Cds placed in it.

Eyecast Cloud Vault - Online Video Surveillance Backup (includes 1 year of service)

Eyecast Cloud Vault - Online Video Surveillance BackupMy company just installed these Eyecast Cloud Vaults in our office. They work amazingly well. I can view the office in real time from my computer and iPhone 24 hours per day with excellent resolution and refresh rate, and all of the playback, archiving, and exporting is done online and can be performed remotely. We replaced our hard drive based DVR storage system with these devices (the existing cameras plug right in) and the upgrade was tremendous. Further, if anything happened to the actual old DVRs (theft, fire, flood, power surge, etc.), all of the stored data / recordings would be lost. This system, since it is cloud based, prevents the loss of any data due to DVR damage / loss. Also you can expand the storage service online with Eyecast, so it is very flexible. The owners and representatives of Eyecast are also very personable and will address any questions immediately. Very satisfied with this product and service. Highly recommend the company and product.

DXG DXG-506V 5.1 MegaPixel Multi-Functional Camera with MPEG4 Technology (Silver)

DXG DXG-506V 5.1 MegaPixel Multi-Functional Camera with MPEG4 TechnologyHere's the short and skinny on this thing. It makes for a decent stocking stuffer at Christmas or extra birthday gift. I mean, its usually on sale for about $100 and that's about an extra $150 cheaper than an entry-level "name brand" camera. I bought mine for my teenage son who basically wants to dabble with this thing. If your kids, like mine, are extra rough with things, then you probably don't want to spend $400 for a Sony or JVC.

To begin, the package indicates that it is a "5 in 1" device, meaning camcorder, digital camera, MP3 player, etc. Don't think you'll get out of purchasing a separate MP3 player for your kids though. The MP3 player won't fool any teenager, so you'll definitely need to buy a devoted MP3 player. Seriously, the MP3 capability on this thing is a joke. As far as digital pictures, it takes grainy, sub-par pictures, so only a teenager would likely be okay with this. Don't expect good family photos in other words. The camcorder function is basic at best. This is not what you want for recording whatever memorable, precious moments you wish to capture. It's okay for kids to record "silly" things, but if they truly become interested and want to delve into this as a hobby, then you'll seroiusly need to consider splurging for something better.

What actually makes this player so inexpensive and lightweight is actually its Achilles heel. You see, most digital camcorders come with a rechargeable battery. In fact, the rechargeable battery is what adds significantly to the cost of the camcorder. I don't have a cost breakdown, but I suspect it is in the area of 25% of the overall cost. With the DXG, there is no rechargeable battery---but how I wish there were!!! Instead of a bulky rechargeable, this uses four "AAA" batteries. Cool, right? Well, this thing goes through batteries like a Hummer goes through gas. Seriously, four fresh batteries will be consumed in only a few minutes!!!! The bottom line, you'll most certainly need a separate battery recharger and rechargeable batteries to constantly feed this thing.

In short, this is a decent gift IF and only IF you buy a battery recharger. If you desire only the digital camera function, you ought to seriously consider a devoted digital camera as this one is ho-hum at best. Not a bad gift, but it is really more of a toy than a "big boy" camera.

I have been playing with this camcorder since I got it for Christmas and overall I'm pleased with it. On the up side: it's light & compact as your wallet, easy to use (I read all the instructions first), easy to download the pix & vids to your computer. And it's cheap. I've had no trouble with my battery door or extra memory chip coming open, as some other viewers have. On the down side: the built-in memory really isn't enough to allow for much video shooting or picture taking before it's full (an extra memory chip is essential and according to the DXG website there is a certain type that is compatible), neither the instructions nor the website explain certain functions and icons you really want to know about (such as flash operation). I've had better results shooting outdoors, than in. Light makes the difference. But overall I like my DXG and carry it w/ me in my handbag.

i am amazed at how many people hold this camcorder INCORECTLY.

you do NOT grip it like a gun, you hold it with your thumb on the bottom of the unit and your index finger and the finger inbetween your index finger on the top of the camcorder where the 3 notches are.

notice how you are not covering the flash, or touching the battery door? i have NEVER had the SD card slot door magicly open, it clicks into place.

again if you hold the camera like a gun, you might be acidently sliding the SD door open with your fingers. THIS IS THE INCORRECT WAY TO HOLD THE CAM.

the flash is activated by pressing LEFT on the ring with the red button, alternatvly pressing right will pause video.

pictures should be taken with the fine setting, and you MUST hold the camera still while shooting ( while the save bar saves the picture )

here is a hint...use a high speed SD card, most standard cards are 32X and are slow at 3 or higher Megapixels. I use a 150X card for fast saving of the pictures which means i do not have to keep the camera still for very long it only takes a second to save a high megapixel picture.

good light is required for the video, pictures i have not had problems with, the flash is fine for dark pictures.

another hint, use AVI for video as it is the least compressed of the 3 options, also if you want night or dark shooting you CAN do this with the camera, here is how, when you play back the video on your pc, turn up the contrast to 75% from the default 50% on Windows media player.

i hope this helps you all.

my only complaint is this....

i noticed on the LCD screen or rather the edge border of the plastic around the screen on both the top and bottom of the border of the screen in the centre there is a cut in the border, i am not sure if this is a manufacture defect or if its supposed to be there, it seems odd that is on the top and bottom border of the screen, and both in the centre of the border. ( you cannot see it head on with the screen, you have to tilt the angle of the screen to see it )

anyone else notice this, it was not like that on the 305v model that i used to have.

Don't be fooled by what people say for this item. They say things break by using it or just fall off of this product. So where do I begin, well first off I could not be more happy with this product then I already am. I got this in a nice box and opened it right away. First thing I noticed was its size. It is nice and small and thats the way it should be. However when I saw how small it was compared to what I originally thought, I was worried about video quality. Then onced I recorded things in different lighted areas, I found it to have great quaslity. One problem I did found was when It was dark, this camera deos not do so well in the dark. It just lowers the quality of the video. So after trying it out I was confused a little at how to work it but I found out how to use it right away. I bought the 10 dollar 1G memory card with it and they work perfectly together. The clip on lens protector is a little unsatisfieing but it will do good in the short term. I have not tried the MP3 player because I did not buy this camera for that, however I did try the voice recorder. Everything works great from the Pictures to the videos to the Voice Recorder. This camera also has nice small features like changing the formats of things you record, and all those little things. For about one-hundred dollars this is a must buy. This camera is perfect if your looking for compatibility, and recording movies. Believe it or not if you record at 30 fps on a 1GB card you can record to about one hour and thirty minutes.

Pros:

-Price (Camcorder is about 100$ HOWEVER buy the 10$ GB card because not all cards can go into this camera, believe me its worth the money. The card is cheap and works perfectly for the camera.)

-Quality (Good quality for such a small thing and you can chose from different frame rates.)

-5.1 Megapixels (This is good for cameras, some expensive cameras might not even have this.)

-Memory ( With the card this is a good amount of memory that will allow you to film for at least an hour.)

-Cables and Programs (A CD comes with the camera to install some programs to save the things you took onto your computer, if you don't have anything already.)

-Compatibility (Nice light weight camera.)

-Included Carrying Case (Comes with carrying case to protect your camera even more.)

Cons:

-(Confusing to use at first, it is possible to delete thigs without you knowing what you are doing, however everything is explained in the manual.)

-Clip On Lens Protector (It is kinda bad after a while, because it deos losen, however camera comes with carrying case anyway so thats good.)

-Memory (The built in memory is not that good at all, so buy the card or you won't enjoy this camera.)

Anyway this camera is perfect for filming those little moments in your life, like on vacations or other things like that. You can easily tuck it somewhere where it won't bother you. However if you want PERFECT quality you won't find that here. This camera deos have great quality but its not perfect.

This is a product that most likely you will love or hate, however I really loved it.

Want DXG DXG-506V 5.1 MegaPixel Multi-Functional Camera with MPEG4 Technology (Silver) Discount?

I love this camera. For what it does--it works great! It's ultra-compact and fits anywhere--in a coat or pants pocket--and the pistol-grip style make it handy to shoot stuff without missing the action. This makes it super-convenient for traveling--where you don't end up spending so much time looking through an eyepiece that you miss enjoying the view yourself. And the MP3 player comes in handy on long plane flights. No, it's not an HD camera and it shoots poorly under low light conditions. For the price--I was pleased and happy with the shots it took. I'd love to see a higher quality version of this, too. But it's not garbage like some of the other reviewers stated. It has some nice features (the price!!) and some limitations. So if it fits your uses--get one. You'll be glad you did.

The best things about this camera/camcorder:

-it works great in daylight/outdoor conditions

-it is super compact

-it let's you point and shoot pistol-grip style (so you can enjoy what you're viewing)

-it's ideal for video that's going straight to the web (it uses avi, mov, asf)

-you can replace the AAA batteries whenever you want/need to--not a proprietary battery that requires a special charger, handy when you travel in countries outside the US

-you can replace the memory cards when they fill up (and I think the cheapest place to get them is Amazon)

-it doesn't attract attention to itself like large camcorders with flashing led recording lights

-it's nice to have an mp3 player, camera, camcorder, and audio recorder all-in-one--truly a multimedia recording device

But, also beware that there are some things it doesn't do really well...

-it really only works in daylight/bright light conditions (don't even try shooting outdoors at night)

-the flash doesn't really work unless you're shooting within 3' of subject

-the battery and lens cover are plastic and will wear out if heavily used/misused

-there is no external mic jack

-the menu for the mp3 player is limited

-the manual is somewhat lacking and the print is really small

Audiovox D1710 7-Inch Slim Line Portable DVD Player

Audiovox D1710 7-Inch Slim Line Portable DVD Player
  • Ultra-slim portable DVD player with 7-inch TFT active-matrix LCD screen; unit measures 7.75 x 1.125 x 6 inches (W x H x D)
  • Anti-glare, anti-reflective screen coating maintains viewability even in bright areas
  • Plays DVD-Video (NTSC/PAL), SVCD, VCD, CD and MP3 CD, and Kodak Picture CD; includes AV cabling and slim remote
  • Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel passthrough to compatible audio/video receiver
  • Includes 3-hour lithium-ion battery pack; offers built-in stereo speakers with Q-Surround simulated surround sound

I bought two Audiovox D1710 DVD playersone for each of my daughters for Christmas. Both arrived defectiveone kept shutting itself off after only about 30 minutes of viewing time (this happened whether using the battery or the 110 volt power supply). The other failed to recognize about half of the DVDs we tried to viewit kept giving us an error message which stated "Wrong Disk" (these were brand new DVDsnot old or scratched ones). Additionally both units had poor picture quality and had very distorted "pixelated" video on some new DVDs. The troubleshooting section of the manual was useless. The "Customer Service" portion of Audiovox's website was even more worthlessthere was no troubleshooting information even remotely related to the problems we were having. The Audiovox Customer Service Phone Number was even less helpfulyou cannot talk to a real person, and after a lengthy menu we were instructed to leave our name and number only to hear that "the mailbox is full"we never were able to leave any information. I finally returned both units for a refund and spent a little more to purchase two Sony DVDs. The Sonys work flawlessly, have beautiful pictures and much better sound. My advice is not to waste your money and your time on the Audiovox D1710spend the extra money to get something that works well.

My wife and I had been thinking about buying a DVD player for home use. We do some traveling year-round and go camping in the summer, so it seemed like a good idea to get a portable DVD player, but we thought they were very expensive. We chose the D1710 for its portability, appearance, features and mostly its price range. At $200. or less, we weren't expecting much. Smaller 4.5"-screen players were only $30. to $50. cheaper.

The D1710 reads DVD's, CD-ROM's, MP3's, JPEG's, TIFF's, and possibly other types of disks/files. It has audio/video and coaxial outputs so you can watch movies on your regular TV, and it comes with a credit card-sized remote control, which works well. The screen is as clear as other players we saw on display costing twice as much, and the sound is typical for such small players with little speakers; it sounds good, but tiny. When using headphones or plugging into a TV or home stereo system the sound is crystal clear and as powerful as a home-based player.

So far we've watched about 10 or 12 movies on the D1710, and although it's tracking is decent, it's not flawless. We haven't played a single DVD yet that didn't momentarily skip or hang at least once or twice during the movie. An occasional black screen happens, but each time we waited and the movie picks right back up within maybe 5 to 15 seconds. To be fair, most of the movies we watched have been on cheap DVD's, and judging from reviews of more expensive units this seems to be quite common among portables.

The battery, though we've only used it once so far just to test it, lasted exactly 2.5 hours on the first charge. I understand the life increases after a handful of charges.

Lastly, we couldn't get JPEG's to show, and the manual is all but useless. I looked up the Audiovox website, which wasn't much more help. You have to create a user-account and then send off some text (no email address for help!), and someone will get back to you within 2 business days. They did, and directed me to call a toll-free number. It turns out that in order for the D1710 to read JPEG's, you need to record them onto disk using CD burning software as opposed to using the "drag and drop" CD feature in Windows XP. After that, it works fine.

Overall, this is a great player for $200.

I have been dying to get a portable DVD player for years, then I received a 1710 for Christmas. It's been absolutely wonderful! When I first sat down to "try it out", I was upset because it seemed like the DVD player wasn't working. I admit, the quick help guide wasn't much help. Then I tried the AV IN/AV OUT button and discovered it was set in the incorrect position. What a simple fix! Since then, I have enjoyed watching an array of movies from mini DVD-Rs (1.4GB), full size DVD-Rs (4.6GB), old DVDs and new DVDs, and even rentals. Everything has played flawlessly. The sound quality is so good that it can be heard clearly from a different room. The picture quality is great in any of the 3 available format ratios. The function keys are spaced well for easy use and are easy to read. From a distance of approximately 10 feet, I could see the picture clearly, plus the remote control worked from that distance too. I've used my 1710 almost daily since I got it for Christmas and have had no problems yet. If my opinion changes, I will get back online to give an update. I can't attest to the customer service given by Audiovox because I haven't had to use them. :-)

I purchased my Dvd player for a big trip the next day. I tested it out at home with the wall plug that was provided in the package. It worked great so i charged up the battery that night. Used the car adaptor the next day. The DVD cut off 15 min into it, and would not come back up. The player started to smoke so i returned it back and exchanged for another one (same brand). This one did the same thing except i used the battery instead of the adaptor and it started to smoke again. Even at the store it was smoking when the employee checked it out. I would not buy another one! Not worth it!

WILL NEED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IF YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT! Worked fine on our first trip next use was outside of the 90 day warranty and it started freezing up about 30 minutes into a movie. It's next little trick was saying "wrong disc" or "no disc" with any and all DVDs or CDs I placed in it. So I have spent $200 for a trip worth of watching movies. NOT A GOOD DEAL! If anyone wants to buy it for the battery I'm selling :-)

Apex AD-600A DVD Player

Apex AD-600A DVD Player
  • Plays DVDs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, MP3 CDs, and Video CDs
  • Dolby Digital and DTS output
  • Coaxial digital-audio output
  • Composite-video, S-video, and component-video outputs
  • 2 microphone jacks for karaoke

I had originally bought this DVD player for the Region and CSS circumvention features. By the time that I got mine though they had replaced the chipset and this was no longer a feature. I am, however, very satisfied with this DVD player and have found it to be a real bargain when you consider all the features that it has. My favorite is its ability to play my mp3's that I've burned to CD. all in all I highly recommend this product.

Buy Apex AD-600A DVD Player Now

Absolutely the best DVD player for the money! Awesome picture & sound. Mine plays anything that I throw at it. How many DVD players can actually read CD-R and CD-RW? How many do Karaoke as well as have the ability to play MP3 files you've burned to CD? This one does it all! It even plays VCD's. Why spend $300-500 on a machine that won't even do half of what this one will? The Apex 600A had notoriety for awhile since it was able to circumvent region coding and copy protection. Unfortunately those machines also were riddled with playback issues, most notably the problem with seamless branching noted above. But not anymore! None of the newer 600A's have these problems, making them, in my opinion, probably the best DVD player on the market.

If you're going to be playing VCD's a lot, you may want to go with the Apex 703, as they have a 3 disc tray so there's no need to get up and switch discs during playback!

Read Best Reviews of Apex AD-600A DVD Player Here

Apex is a fairly new company, that came out in early 2000. The Apex AD-600A was their very first DVD player to hit the market. It was also the very first of its kind, to have the MP3 compatability that a lot of players didn't have for some time.

Although they are not as expensive as more know name brands like Sony and Panasonic, this DVD player is very dynamic for the price. It has all the usual features, plus one of the very first DVD players to have a guideline similar to the V-Chip on the latest television models.

Although Apex only makes DVD Players on the market, the first model that came out is well worth the buy. If you want to buy a DVD player that is very cheap, but not all that hastle, Apex has DVD players that are worth it.

Secret Bonus Menu for AD-600A:

1) Turn DVD player on, and make sure that the on-screen display says no disc.

2) Press "setup" button, and highlight preferences under the setup menu.

3)Once you've highlighted the preferences, press the "step" button on the remote control.

4)Then, press the "previous track" button, below the button marked "A-B".

5)Hit "Next Track" button, next to the previous track button.

After following these steps, you'll see a bonus "loopholes" menu on the display. On this menu, you can change the CSS Encryption, Macrovision, and Region I.D.

Want Apex AD-600A DVD Player Discount?

If you think these DVD players offer too much for the price they're asking you're right. I got the 3 disc version of this player for christmas. It did play CD-R's CD-RW's and mp3 CD's (which is the reason I looked at this unknown brand in the first place). It did not play DVDs well at all. It would skip frequently even on brand new DVDs that I just opened. When I took it back to the store where I purchased it there were already 3 apex DVD players behind the return counter that had been returned that day. When I returned mine I asked the clerk and she said they'd been getting tons of Apex players back since they started selling them (all models). After I went and bought a sony DVD player (see reviews on the sony DVP-S360) I saw 3 more people standing in the returns line taking back Apex DVD players on my way out of the store!

Apex is an unknown brand offering DVD players for 50 bucks less than everyone else. They don't have the quality control or the engineering experience of a company like sony, toshiba, panasonic, or jvc. While it's tempting to have a very low price DVD player with mp3 capability it's not worth blowing 150 bucks or more on an unknown brand with severe reliability issues. Buying one of these is risky. Ask the returns department of any store that sells this brand and they'll tell you to stay away.

Bought one two years ago. Haven't needed anything else. I was able to update the firmware to support multi-region, macrovision disabled, and playback of mpg files.

The hacker types out there have even modified this player by adding an internal hard disk. Those interested in these mods should check the nerd-out dot com web site.

OnAir Creator - DTV Receiver & DVR for PC! (HDTV-CREATOR)

OnAir Creator - DTV Receiver & DVR for PC!Ths OnAir Creator works for me perfectly-----HOWEVER-----Autumn Wave is now out of business. They went out of business and left ALL existing and new customers high and dry with regards to drivers and software---and support. If you lost your original CD that came with the unit, good luck finding the software and drivers. I happen to have my OnAir Creator installed and it still works beautifully since day one. It will pick up all QAM channels that are not encrypted which means----hardly any (NOT the OnAir Creator's fault). My cable TV provider is Comcast and is without a doubt one of the worst Companies I have ever been associated with. Overnight, they encrypted 90% of all over-the-air channels, except the channels they are required by Law to provide (local stations). Channels such as: ESPN, USA etc, are now not obtainable. Comcast wants even MORE money if you want these channels, you must rent yet ANOTHER CABLE BOX. That is in addition to the HD-DVR that I already rent from them to watch HDTV and Premium channels. Comcast still wants more money. IF you can find the drivers and software, then I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this OnAir Creator, but keep in mind that the "Consumer" loses in every situation these days. BIG Corporations dictate that and Comcast is one of the very WORST ever.

Had other HDTV PC receivers/tuners. The On Air Solution HDTV Creator has the LG 5th generation HDTV receiver chip, a 5.1 dolby digial sound processor and other onboard processors to handle all tv processing and releive the pc from tv processing. I get the most channels with this receiver and excellent fidelity and reception. I am very happy with it. It plugs in and requires no special drivers or software. I can say nothing about the software as I use Media Center only wich works great.

I fried a couple of VistaView tuner cards in my HP Slimline before I found this product. Works great with Vista Media Center. Just as advertised. It may be a little bit more money, but it has worked flawlessly in the two months since I installed it.

I have a ATI Video Wonder TV tuner card that works great as a TV tuner, but I got the OnAir Creator USB HDTV for the DVR function. After downloading all the newest drivers and software, not only do the DVR and delay function not work, but after shutting down my system and restarting, the video and TV tuner inputs won't work. I have tried completely removing and reinstalling the drivers and software but it will still only play files. I should have sent it back immediately but thought I could eventually figure it out. Save your money and time, go with ATI or another established manufacturer.

DIGISTOR 50GB 6X Blu-ray Disc Recordable BD-R Blank Media, White Inkjet Printable Surface10 discs cost almost 40 $ comparing to 25GB which are only 30$ per 50. To me is extremely expensive. I will buy them again unless they bring the price down. Can't complain about quality though, no coasters

The discs came in a cake pack (stack) vs. individual envelopes as pictured more convenient, IMHO. I burned several discs in my Samsung SE-506BB, all of which played fine in my Sony BluRay player. Given the low price for these 50GB BD-R discs, they are an excellent value. I'm very satisfied.

Disc manufacturer CMC in China. Got great BD-R disc from CMC before, this is my first BD-R DL disc, that wasn't in a single package. I burned a file of 38GB on two different disc, one @ 2x (forgot to change to 4x), the other @ 4x. Disc is rated to burn up to 6X. Both disc showed perfect surface and verification checks, afterwards. This will my BD-R DL printable choice, unless some one beats their price with the same quality. Can't wait to buy more. Will experiment with the 6X burning later. I used Maxell BD-R DL disc previous. They a were great, but too expensive. I think they were also made by CMC. I'm using 14x LG BR burners. So good so far.

Craig Electronics 4GB MP3 Plus Video Player With 1.8-Inch Color Display

Craig Electronics 4GB MP3 Plus Video Player With 1.8-Inch Color Display
  • MP3 plus Video Player
  • 1.8 inch color display
  • Digital Rights Management (DRM10)
  • 4GB Built-In Flash Memory
  • MP3 Video Player

I got this thing for about 30 bucks at my local Safeway, and let me tell you it looks almost exactly like an iPod! Even my friends that owned one thought it did until they realized it was a little shorter and wider than one. It even comes with the traditional white earbuds! Right away I liked it when I took it out of the box; it felt sleek, tiny, and cool in my hands, and the pink was shiny, this is exactly what mine looked like

The USB cord that comes with it for charging and uploading songs to, had a lead warning, but I still used it. This may put people off at first, and if you want you can always buy another cord without the lead (or the warning at least, not sure if it was actually viable).

Anyway I plugged the device into my computer via the cord and my computer immediately recognized it through both Sync Center and Window's Media Player. If you have Sync Center on your computer, I'd would advise to not use it since it tends to just load all your mp3 files at once onto the mp3 player, and in the future it causes duplicates. I used Window's Media Player; dragged and dropped my music into the playlist they give you, and then hit "sync". It is very fast, and I was able to put about 70 songs on in just 6 minutes.

Then I finally used it! I don't remember if the earphones were of particular bad quality, so I think it's safe to say they were all right (though I think the hard plastic made my ears itch). The sound quality was better than I expected after I adjusted the settings for the audio (mainly bass, and 3D

Ematic 8 GB Video MP3 Player with 3-Inch Touchscreen, Built-in 5MP Digital Video Camera, FM Radio,

Ematic 8 GB Video MP3 Player with 3-Inch Touchscreen, Built-in 5MP Digital Video Camera, FM Radio, and Speaker

  • Supports MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, FLAC, and APE audio files; AVI, MP4, RM, RMVB, and FLV video files; JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, and TIFF images; TXT text files
  • One-year limited warranty

I was a bit skeptical about this and have seen some poor reviews, especially about freezing, touch screen problems, durability etc.

After recieving it I must say this product does everything it promises. The Pics are snapshot quality which is fine. The video playback was surprisingly good. No problems with the touchscreen. plays music and FM fine, quality is good with headphones, onboard speaker is just what it is.

I did tell my daughter that she should treat this delicately so that it would last. there is a lot crammed into it and that means small boards and small delicate parts. If you or your child can take care of things I recommend it.

1 caveat, I didn't get a chance to use the software that came with it to convert video because my windows program told me it was not confirmed compatable with my system and would require changing some system settings at risk. I opted not to use it . It's not worth the risk and there are plenty of online converters, some free, some trial, that work well with this. ( The one I got as a trial puts a watermark on the vid except in FLV which is what I encoded Finding Nemo in, It looks awesome!

I have mixed thoughts on this product. I bought it for my 5 year old to use because she loves gadgets, photos, music and movies. She learned to use it very quickly and relatively well.

The player itself is very lightweight. That is good for carrying but also scares me for durability.

The touchscreen is fairly responsive--I would say it needs a medium pressure from the stylus or finger to choose items.

The screen is not as clear as I had expected for a small device like this, but it is also decent. Cartoons and movies look pretty well.

The photos taken are snapshot-quality. Decent for a kid. Surprisingly, they actually look better once uploaded to my computer than they do on the screen.

The sound is decent, the external speaker fairly loud for the little size.

The menus are so-so. They are what I expect from such a basic, low-cost, do-all product. A bit too deep at times, are not uniform when using one feature versus another, etc.

My biggest problem is one that seems to definitely be part of the product line--the headphone jack. Within days of getting this item, the external speaker would not turn off when the headphones were inserted. Amazon was great and shipped a replacement quickly. Alas, I tried the headphone jack immediately and it worked 2 times! Literally! It had the same problem in less than about 2 minutes! Apparently, other customers have had this same issue. After playing with this, I have come to realize that putting slight pressure on the sides of the case near the jack solves the problem for a moment--it seems that there is a bad contact somewhere in the internal design.

I don't have a final view on this product. I would like to see that the headphone jack is just a temporary production issue. But, I don't want to keep getting more of the same as I try to find out a solution. I have sent the problem to ematic, waiting for a response still. I will update this later if I get more info.

I bought this mp3 player for my daughter. It worked great for about a week and then the jack for the headphones wouldn't work correctly. She hooks in the headphones and the music will come out the headphones and the speakers. She has had other mp3 players that have lasted years and some didn't cost as much as this one. In fact, they still work she just wanted a newer up-to-date one. This was a big disappointment.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas as an alternative to the apple ipod. She was happy with it on Christmas even though it was completely made of plastic, but 3 days after Christmas it broke. The music started playing out of both the headphones and the speaker. Do not waste your money.

I have to teen daughters & bought them each one in different colors for Christmas. I bought one from Amazon & one from Walmart.com & they are crappy! The one I bought on Amazon won't keep a charge. We charged it for 30 hours & when unplugged, it kept the charge for about 14 minutes. Charged it again & again for about 15 hours & it wouldn't even fully charge. The one we bought off of Walmart.com keeps having the screen freeze...terrible product.

Defender DF10W 60ft Camera Extension Wire

Defender DF10W 60ft Camera Extension WireExcellent Product! This product enabled me to place my security cameras anywhere I want! Defender DF10W 60ft Camera Extension Wire

When I purchased the Defender DVR/camera system I was concerned about the lenght of the cables included with the kit(60ft.) because I needed more lenght for some camera locations(backyard,terrace,etc.). I was surprised to find the cable being sold separately here and the service and shipping were excellent.

I ordered a couple of these, but Amazon was unable to deliver them in a timely manner. I got the SVAT CVW62 version instead, which are white instead of black. Electrically they are the equivalent cable. The CVW62 cables are working great with a Defender SENTINEL1 system.
