I'm so happy with this DVD player! It works great and was very easy to set-up. One reviewer said they had to go and buy the proper cord to hook up the player; mine did come with a European plug, but it also came with the adapter to fit the US outlet. So far I've used it to play region 1, 2, and 4 (PAL and NTSC) DVDs and all have worked great! I would recommend this DVD player to anyone looking for a reasonably priced region free DVD player.

Great player with exceptional screen resolution. Plays Europe dvd movies I purchased previously and have only been able to watch on my computer, along with US dvd movies.

The only problem I found was that the power cord that came with the packaging was a Europe based power cord and not a US based power cord. This problem was easily corrected at the local Radio Shack with the purchase of a power cord that fit both the unit and the wall plug in my home.

Was a great investment and I would recommend this player to anyone.

This DVD player is supposed to play DVDs from any Region. However, the unit I received would play Region 3 DVDs, but it would not play Region 1 (USA) DVDs, and I got an "incompatible" message on the screen every time I tried to play a Region 1 DVD. (I could play these DVDs with a regular USA DVD player.) I did follow the manual and use the Power/FF buttons to get the NTSC setting, but it still would not work with Region 1 DVDs.

After I returned the unit, I did some research and found out from the official Pioneer website that Pioneer does not make or sell multi-region DVD players anywhere in the world due to copyright laws. Hacking the units to make them multi-region would void the manufacturer's warranty. I guess it would be true with other manufacturers too. So the obvious conclusion is that all these multi-region DVD players were hacked by the sellers, therefore do not carry the manufacturer's warranty anymore, and whether or not the unit you receive works fine all depends if you are lucky enough to get a unit that was hacked correctly.

Despite some conflicting reviews about this multi region player, I ordered one. It was a deal hard to pass up. I am completely satisfied with the entire transaction including quick delivery and especially the ease of installation. I consider myself technology-challenged, but was not only amazed at how easy it was to set up but that I DID IT MYSELF!!! I've been enjoying watching my collection of dvds from all over the world, no problems whatsoever. The product arrived with instructions, and also the adapter I needed to plug it in here in the US. It is small and lightweight and the remote simple and easy to use (although I wish remote makers would include lighted keypads!) I do have to use the remote with the light on and with my glasses but that's my eyesight. I would recommend this player to anyone looking for a great deal (cannot beat this price!!) and especially to those like me who are normally challenged by oftentimes complicated installations.

This product does what I want it to do. I had a region 2 dvd that I needed to play & this works fine. The great review, however, is about the service I received from BOMBAY ELECTRONICS.
