Western Digital 250 GB AV SATA 3 Gb/s 7200 RPM 8 MB Cache Bulk/OEM AV Hard Drive- WD2500AVJS

Replaced the junk drive in my Tivo Series 3 that went kaput. This drive has been working just fine for several weeks now, can't hear it running at all. No complaints at all.

I purchased this product to replace the same make/model hard drive which failed in a digital video recorder after only a year and a half of usage.

Although I have had no problems with previous disk drives from WD, I'm certainly disappointed with this model (especially when the published reliability number (mean time between failure, or MTBF in geek-speak) was so good. I hope this was just an anomaly. The warranty is longer than this, but who cares when you have to fix the product and potentially lose data? Fortunately, the only thing I lost were a few TV shows which were saved on the hard drive.
