The AVerMedia c874 is solid High Definition Component USB capture card. I chose this one when up grading from a composite capture card (Standered Definition). It is one of the lesser known capture cards, and at the time I picked it up there were less options as opposed to now where there is a wide variety of HD capture cards. Though this can be used to record TV shows via a pass through component cable set up, I use it to recorded video game footage. Other then hitting a small snag early on in the recording software I have had no problems at all. It has composite, S-Video along with a in and out for component cables and a HDMI "out" but no input for HDMI which is a bit of a miss. It comes with soft wear for recording, converting recorded files to other files and a very poor video editor (I would not use unless you plan to do no editing its really only good to make simple DVDs). Otherwise over all for the price and the success and fun Ive had with it doing just what iv always needed it to do after months of use i'am very happy with this and would recommend it to someone looking for a capture card with the capabilities noted.

if you are thinking of ordering this item to use for game recording and commentary, think again. The amount of lag between your voice and the in game happenings is around 3-5 seconds of delay which is unacceptable.
