The Good:
The Speakers are AMAZING!
The Home Page is really cool.
The Video on this is great quality and sound
The Installation CD gives you a converter for the video.
Comes with a Stylus
A USB Cord
A USB Wall Charger
Instruction Manual
Can play lyrics along with music, also which the CD and MANUAL tells you how to do.
Comes in a really cool black box
The Delivery was pretty quick in standard shipping.
The BAD:
On the manual the word DIGITAL is spelled WRONG!!
The Manual is WAY TOO SMALL to read.
The Stylus WILL destroy the screen
The Screen is extremely un sensitive to touch, you have to press down very firmly to get what you want.
The Start Up and the Shut Down is so stupid and its ugly
The Player Display format (when you play the music, how it looks, with the artist and the song.) is ugly.
The Music list looks crappy and is loosely made to be in a list.
It looks really cheap, and it feels hollow.
It comes from a China manufacturer.(I didnt know that.)
It has NO model number or anything.
Overall:
3 out of 5
Because its a reasonable price for this piece of plastic.
And I like it, i just wish i could change the interface or customize it.
If you know where to get to customize this i would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
*I hope this Review helps.
Buy Pyrus 8gb Mp3/mp4 Player with 2.8 Inch Touch Screen Now
My 15 year old son has been begging for an iPod touch for months but I was not forking out 200 bucks! I've purchase him some type of mp3 every year for the last 3 years for one reason or another...lost, stolen, broken, etc. This was a great compromise for the money. He has not put it down since getting it last Friday. I placed the order the prior Monday. Wow, what quick delivery. My son has experienced the iPod and iPod touch and is just as pleased with this product. The stylus was an added bonus. He found the video quality impressive. He was over the top about the FM tuner and record functions and raved about the speaker quality. Unfortunately, I begged him to use the headphone, the quality is so good. His main complaint was that, initially there was some issue with downloading the music from iTunes. He finally had to convert to another application to load the unit but had no problems after that. No comment on battery life because I'm not testing it but he liked that he has the option of charging on the computer or the AC adapter. Overall this was a good pick for an early Christmas gift.
Last thing, don't bother with the camera. That was the only real drawback. Quality is very poor but what can you expect from 2 megapixals and this is comparing to his DSi which has a much better picture.

Want Pyrus 8gb Mp3/mp4 Player with 2.8 Inch Touch Screen Discount?
For sixty bucks and some change it is hard to find a player in this price range that does all that this player does and with as much internal memory. Comparatively you could get a 2 or 4 gig with a 2'inch screen (non touch) at the same price tops. While this sounds like a great deal it should also be said that there are many advantages and disadvantages to be aware of before you purchase one:Good:
Large capacity
very good sound quality (when using headphones)
video capabilities
external speaker (more novelty then useful)
easy touch screen response
battery life is very reasonable
Bad:
ugly interface
somewhat outdated firmware(non upgradeable)
videos must be converted before playing (even standard avi)
has mini SD card slot /as apposed to the more easily accessible micro SD
plastic outer casing
cant modify look of ui menu
for these reasons i give this player a 3 1/2 star rating and also because of the flimsy build quality of the outside casing i wouldn't expect this to have a long life span unless handled with exceeding care and fitted with a silicon case and screen protector as mine has, id suggest only buying from a seller who is willing to apply a warranty to their electronics (mine is one year) because as with any product you run the risk of damages and defects due to a lack of quality control from its factory.
That said though i am quite enjoying this cheap player as a replacement of my Ramos 970.This device is good. The sound and picture quality is better than my computer! It is defiantly not an Ipod touch but it is still good. Like every electronic device it has some problems. Like it doesn't automatically put your stuff into files, you have to do that yourself. I've had it for a while now and I still can't figure out how to upload videos on to it. But that might be just me. There is no place to put the stylist (I already lost mine. I use my finger nail. You can use a tooth pick if you want.). It might be a little hard to figure out at first, but after awhile you get the hang of it. The device does not come with an instruction manual. The black case thingy has no hole for the buttons. I had to cut it out myself. I know I'm making it sound like it's a horrible device. But it's actually really good. It defiantly beats my old MP3 player. The screen is pretty sensitive. But sometimes you have to press a little. I LOVE the eternal speaker! I barely use headphones! It's like a miniature stereo! I still can't figure out what the Text feature is. It is a pretty big screen. It's big enough for maybe three people to watch at once. All in all, I defiantly recommend this device if you can't afford an Ipod Touch. It's a good MP4.
