I bought a black c240 over a year ago and it's still working perfectly. I take it hiking and when I go to the beach, etc. small enough to put in my pocket. Sound is great and it's easy to load up hundreds of MP3's using Windows MediaPlayer, or to sync the player to new additions to a favorites list in MediaPlayer. I really like the Sansa, it's smaller, less complicated and sounds as good as the Apple competition that I considered. I bought a red Sansa c240 for my wife, but she has arthritis and has trouble using it, so am selling it. It's has very little use.

The removable battery is great because you can buy a spare and keep one fully charged. That way if you run out of battery, you just swap the fresh one in and you're good to go. Spare batteries run about $5 and worth every cent. The tactile raised buttons are great because you can literally use the controls blind. Once you know the simple button layout, you can easily skip, control volume, and pause without having to look at the player at all. It's hard to describe how useful this function is. I keep the player in the 5th pocket of my jeans; I can control the player entirely without ever having to remove it from my pocket. My only real complaint with the player is that it uses a proprietary plug much like an iPod plug. This does take away somewhat from the portability over another player that uses a more standard plug such as mini-usb or micro-usb.

Summary:

Good solid player, well designed, easy to operate. Very customizable with Rockbox.

I bought this product for my brother for his birthday, so i decided to wait before reviewing it. He LOVES this thing, lol. One of my co-workers told me about Sansa, I had never really heard of this brand before. When she told me that it was better than some of the other mp3's and ipods she used I had to check it out. My brother uses it quite frequently and we were able to add music so easily. Of course the little bonus feature is being able to add gig's to the device. A lot of smaller mp3's do not have this option, so this was perfect for him.

I GB works great for me since I only use this for music. I was very surprised by the clear sound coming from such a small device. Can't beat the great price!
