The installation, for this switch, is ultra-simple just take it out of the box and plug it in. As this is an unmanaged switch there is no set up, there is no need for any alignment or maintenance.Since I integrated my switch into the network, so far so good it has been trouble free and has no noise issues. The devise can get quite warm to the touch, so best keep it away from central heating or other devises that generate heat. The size of the switch is remarkably small and as it is Gigabit you get faster transfer rates. However, remember you will need a Gigabit network card in every networked machine in order to get the full 1000 mbps throughput, plus all ,associated network cables must, be rated, at cat 5e and above, to take advantage of the improved performance.
