We did have a little trouble playing a variety of video files...we seem to have the best luck with Divx and VOB...it seemed hit or miss with every other file type. (It play's commercial dvd's no problem, it's the files we had on a thumb drive that we had to convert to another file type to get it to play).
We were also pleasantly surprised that the player came with the power cord for the car, as well as the wall, and the cords necessary to hook it up to a tv...and a jacket/cover to attach it to the back of a headrest in a car (with little cut outs for the speakers.
I think this was a good buy. My intention was to use it as a dvd player at the gym with workout videos, and this will be perfect.
One last note I was shocked how small the player is...the screen is 7 inches diagonal (6x3.5inches) the whole player is 8x6.25 inches. Just making a note.Best buy (price vs quality). I was very satisfied when I open it find out it came with a belt to attach it to the back seat of the car, and a travel case.Picture is pretty good for a small screen. Seems sturdy, but I just started using it. The cloth case that comes with it was made for a previous model, if that is important to you. Still charging the battery, so not sure how well that works yet. The instructions are in poorly translated wording from some language other than English. But I managed to play a disc with a little trial and error. It should serve my purposes for travel.I didn't expect much of this product, and I was right. It was built cheaply and the menus were difficult to navigate. It did play well for 2 1/2 weeks. Then the power would not stay on longer than 10-20 seconds during use. The battery never charged. I ended up returning it. I did try to contact Pyle and was informed that there was nothing they could do to help me as there was no warantee on this item due to its "value pricing." All in all, very disappointing. The plug car accessory adaptor stopped working within one week. Had to go to best buy to purchase a universal one for $25.
The player works fine so far though. Time will tell.
