Very easy to use and the sound quality is superb!

Having it record directly into mp3 format is great.

Just plug in the usb cable and your computer sees the device as a temp storage device.

Just drag/drop delete as needed.

You can also use it as a portable storage device holding other files besides audio.

Having built in jacks for using headphones or an external mic is nice.

The built in speaker plays recorded audio loud enough to be useful. (unlike some other recorders where you need to be in a quite room to hear anything)

misc.: Has small clip to hookup a strap.

USB port has a rubber cover to protect from dirt and dust.

Can eaisly be operated with one hand.

Has key-lock feature so it can just be thrown in a bag without fear of batteries going dead from turning on/off.

Only con is the screen is not backlit to use device in low-light conditions.

Easy to use. Works great for medical dictation. Price is GREAT!!! File transfers are easy with no software to load. You can use hook this to any computer with a USB port and the computer see it as an additional drive.

you can lock the unit to prevent it from accidentally turning on

I'm not listing them all. A feature that Olympus models don't seem to have is that it functions as a thumb drive as well you can store any files you want on it! You don't need batteries installed to down or up load files. The voice quality is good for the price.

However, SAVE YOUR RECEIPT. My unit, as much as I loved it, died after 6 weeks of use. You have a 1 year warranty but you have to have the receipt to get a replacement. I also did not like that it was only 64MB. As cheap as memory is today, it should be at least 128 or 256 MB (most recorders in this price range seem to have the same small amount of memory)

The 64mg RCA recorder is more than enough for my classes and meetings. The USB interface is nice because it is plug and play.

On paper this device seems great. I had a simple use of random dictation while driving my car. Unfortunately, the software is difficult to use and the screen fonts are impossibly tiny. I am busy. Just give me a simple interface and I am happy. I'll be looking at the Olympus models.
