I ordered this product and it arrived in a timely manner. I unpacked it and setup was fairly straight forward. I noticed one of the cameras had weak signal even close to the receiver. I mounted cameras and they do work pretty good. The problem I have is that the cameras keep dropping signal/disconnecting. I have to keep re-settng the receivers and/or cameras by unplugging them and allowing them to re-aquire.
2.)make sure you also buy a separate video card to fit pcie slot
3.)make sure you send it back after the ups guy drops it off
After 36 hrs of use, 3 of the 4 cameras failed. The software is not very user friendly. If you like spending time on the phone, never actually talking to anyone, you might like their customer svc. Do not buy this.I have a similar but older 4 camera system.
It works well enough but don't break or lose you remote control because Lorex has no visible customer support and I can't even locate a model number on my defunct remote.
I have sent them a number of emails Crickets.
I'd have given them 3 stars for performance & 4 stars for longevity but seeing as how they have such dismal support I can give them only 2 stars overall.I got the system for an outdoor security application watching entries into our building. The night vision does ok and so long as your read up on the systems limits and make sure the cameras will work for you they will be fine. They do work for me. There are a few install issues that I ran into. The cameras are sensetive to being mounted too near one another. I suggest keeping a 10' minimum distance between transmitting cameras. If you do not, one will interfere and the feed will shut off until you reset the camera. You have to reset them alot if you do not make sure all the cabling is tight and there is no interference. Once I got all that figured out with Lorex tech support, they have been good. I check them once a month and restart the PC about every 3 just for good measure. They record to HDD and you use a seperate video viewer to watch the recordings. That is nice because you dont have to shut the cameras down to view video. You can also install the vid viewer on a networked computer and remotely view the video files.These are video cameras that I have had to adjust the antennas each time we have had heavy rain or winds. I have had to send back one of the camera. Units go off and on constantly and have to be readjusted.
