After reading all the negative reviews, I was extremely hesitant about getting the Sony MDCASE3. I'm glad I took the risk because it performs exactly as I had hoped.Remember, this is an armband case. What that means to me is that it's practical for taking it to the gym, but not as good for other purposes.
The velcro band itself is adjustable and fits around my arms just fine. I ran a couple of miles with it and it did not slide up and down my arm like the others have said. Maybe their arms are petite? I'm no Hulk but it works for me. I could see it possibly starting to slide a little once you start sweating, but the fabric on the inner side of the band is made of similar material/constitution as tennis headbands, so it should absorb moisture.
The pocket where you place your MiniDisc is large enough to fit your NetMD player. It even fits an older model MD that I own. On the lid portion of the case, there's a webbed pocket for an extra MD. My MD's hold 160 minutes of music and I don't forsee using it to hold a spare disc. I do however, like to put the key to my locker and gym ID card in there.
There is an open slit on one side of the case for you to run your headphones through. But unless you have a remote for your MD, you won't be able to efficiently control any of your MD's functions. One bummer is that the cord length might interfere with your workout, but I remedied that quickly by wrapping the extra cord around the case, THEN closing the lid over it. Problem solved.
The dark gray color of the case looks great to me. I don't think anyone will mistake me for a hospital patient, as one reviewer wrote.
For the price Amazon is charging, this case is well worth the price. Now I can enjoy listening to my own music while I'm working out at the gym and it makes SUCH a difference for my motivation and enjoyment. For me, the Velcro strap never fails, slips, or slides. I don't think I have a different case. As for the lack of storage, I think 10 hours is pretty good for a jog/run/bike/rollerblade, or you can just use it as storage for extra batteries.
On a long haul, i.e. road trip, you can just bring the case of minidiscs along with you. If you jog with cargos, you can just throw all the extra stuff (minidiscs, batteries, FM broadcaster?) in your pockets.
Another great feature is the semi weather resistant design. I have been biking in rain, and the water has barely seeped through. An excellent product.

This carrying case is perfect for the gym. I am able to fit my MiniDisc Player, an extra disc, my headphones (behind the extra disc in the flap-pouch), and I slide my gym card behind the MiniDisc Player. It's a snug fit, but it works.I'm a big guy and I have big arms. While it does fit around my bicep (upper arm), I have it around my forearm at the gym and I am able to flex with ease. It fits real nice and comfortably.
The downsides to this carrying case is that its not good for much more. After using it for a few months, it started to smell something aweful which meant I couldn't use it anywhere else. Washing it doesn't help much. While the velcro on the armband doesn't slip off, the velco on the flap closure is worn out and it doesn't close well anymore.
I still enjoy this product with the flaws and all.
I will just have to buy a new one.

I ordered this item because it is annoying to carry around my md player at the gym. I didn't expect a lot from the product obviously, it's not going to be all nice and streamline because the player is pretty bulky to begin with.Biggest complaint is that the strap is really big if you have a small arm. If I pull it tight enough, the velcro is actually past the point where it sticks. Instead, I fold the strap slightly so that it will work annoying, but works out in the end.
Don't expect a lot from this product and you will be happy.

I purchased this case for my Sony MZ-NF610 and have been pretty pleased with it so far. The arm strap is a nice feature and stays on well, but I use the case mostly to keep my player from getting beat up in my bookbag. A pair of small in ear headphones fit into the case easily as well as one extra minidisk and the player. Rated four stars because it won't hold multiple disks.
