I bought this meter to help calibrate my studio monitors and room acoustics for my home studio. I haven't had any real use for it, except to test it out and make a few minor calibrations for hobbyist use, but so far, the results have been more than satisfactory. It isn't the most accurate SPL meter out there, but once all your measurements have some reference point to something else, you shouldn't have any problems with it. It's light weight, cheap construction, but sturdy. Devices like these aren't meant to be taken to battle fields anyway. Their internal workings are very sensitive and calibrated to be almost precise, so it's not built for ruggedness, but care.
