This is a pretty good little player. It isn't as good as a $300.00 or more IPod, but for its price it is clearly a winner and will actually do more than the IPod. It plays music, videos (full movies if you want) and has an FM radio that works pretty well. You can store and view photos on it and it has an ebook reader.

It can also do voice recording with its built-in mike and it does it well enough to be useful for lectures, etc., and it can hold well over 100 hours of voice recordings in memory.

Speaking of memory, 2GB is a LOT for a player at this price. That much memory should hold several hundred MP3's or 6 or 7 full length movies.

I don't particularly like the menu system it has nor do I like the square screen. TV's don't have square screens, dogonnit! But it appears that many of these players, including IPods, have the square screen so maybe it's just me.

I think this thing does a pretty good job with no major shortcomings. It isn't great, but at its price I'll settle for pretty good.

I purchased two of these MP4 players three years ago on a trip back home to Singapore when they first came out on the market. We bartered the price down and had them also throw in carrying cases, final US price ended up being $40.00 each. Best deal on the planet at the time, while all my friends were spending hundreds on iPod's. It's still working great and we couldn't be happy about it. Unlike our friends who still kick themselves when they see mine. If your ready to buy an MP4 player I highly recommed this model.

I have the 8gb version, but it's the same. it's a nice unit at a good price. don't be turned off by the generic or off branding. it has good features and it's easy to use once it's used a couple of times. just get some more headphones and you're good to go!
