Bought this as a back up... My Magnavox DVD VHS combo unit went bad during power failure,put this one in..It did fine.. Recorded last season`s favorite shows..But for me dubbing VHS to DVD is a must...I used old well worn rewritable disc`s,they preferred to be played back on this unit,that was the only negative..
