Memorex MVD4544 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo

Memorex MVD4544 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo
  • Handy device plays DVD, VHS, Audio CD, CD-R/RW, MP3 CD & JPEG playback
  • S-Video out, RF in/out, component video out enables a better connection between components. Front and rear AV inputs for ease of use and convenience
  • 6-Head Hi-Fi VCR for better quality sound and video
  • 16:9/4:3 ratio switch fits whatever style TV you have

I had no idea that this had no cable hook up. It hooks up through audio video only. Fortunately the store where it was purchased allowed me to return the same day. No tuner. Instructions insist the VCR will tape. Would like to know how that could be done! There is nothing on the outside box to indicate that there is no tuner.

When I purchased this product only the DVD would work and I thought maybe I didn't have it hooked up correctly. Well, that was about 6 months ago and now it won't even turn on. I really want the DVD/VCR combo and guess I'll start shopping....but not this brand again.

This product seems to be a pretty good product; it has a tuner, links well to dtv box, records fine, shows picture fine. There was minimal skipping on playback of a tape, I recorded from another vcr. However, if you are looking to program the vcr to record while you are away from home or busy, this function isn't available. There is only one touch recording(OTR) with the time for recording options available. I have been searching the manual, the internet, memorex website for instructions but I am starting to believe, this option is not available on this model. Be warned.

Want Memorex MVD4544 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo Discount?

Had this unit for quite a while (3+ years). It has worked just fine and came in handy for playing our Disney movies that are mostly VHS. It just recently went out on us the DVD player is making a clicking noise and does not spin the DVD's properly. For the price, you can't beat it. If you want all of the bells and whistles you will want to purchase a better quality unit which means you will spend more. But for the occasional movie watching, works perfectly. We will be purchasing another one to replace ours that broke.

it was old and new all in one. Just a little history to play on the old vcr, it was great.
