I'm using this with my MacBook Pro and Soundscience 2.1 speakers. The cable is great quality and works as expected.

For those who don't know: the MB Pro detects that you've plugged in an optical player and disables the volume controls. The optical out on the MB is the same plug as the headphone jack, but it works like a line out. Definitely recommended for hum-free audio.

It's been quite a while that I was looking for an optical cable with adapter for my Airport Express. This one suits me fine, specially because of its length, which allowed me to leave everything the way it was, just plugged it in!

Gets the job done. The material that the cable is made out of feels incredibly dainty and cheap. If this cabling was run in an area with lots of motion it looks as though it would break.
