For starters, the item shipped the following business day. I received it two days later. That is almost unheard of nowadays. I was nervous about the challenge of switching regions. But it is incredibly simple. It has handled every blu-ray and DVD I've thrown at it from every region. I haven't received my copy "Creature From The Black Lagoon" yet, so I can't comment on the 3D playback, though I'm sure it's fine. The picture quality on every other blu-ray is terrific, and it does a wonderful job of upconverting DVD's. I can't recommend this player more.

Can't say enough about this baby. First off, I got it within 2 days of purchase. Secondly, this thing is so incredibly easy to use, ANYBODY could tinker with it. All in all, it's a beautiful blu-ray player that works very well. Well worth the price!

Secondly..... I wanted this all region DVD player to work.

In the same order from Amazon I purchased this Toshiba Bdx1300rf player and a new Pioneer DV 420K All Region Free Multi System / Multi Region 1080p DVD Player (with HDMI Upconverting & USB).

Both DVD players were received the same day.

Both machines played an Andrea Rieu DVD from The Netherlands.

However, this Toshiba Bdx1300rf would not play a DVD from the UK, but the new Pioneer DV 420K did play that DVD. The particular DVD that this Toshiba Bdx1300rf would not play is the famous Deanna Durbin movie, from 1937, titled "100 Men and A Girl". This particular DVD was purchased from RAREWAVES-IMPORTS through Amazon. This DVD has been played before now, on other all regions players, with no problem. But this DVD will not play on the Toshiba Bdx1300rf.

Also, the remote on this device seems more limited in direction and distance than most devices.

Wanted this machine to work, but it doesn't do what it says it will. It plays some all region DVDs, but not all; At least in my case.
