eForCity Digital Optical Audio TosLink to Mini TosLink Cable, 6 FT

eForCity Digital Optical Audio TosLink to Mini TosLink Cable, 6 FTI wouldnt use these to set up my home theater system again they do not provide the best quailty to your sound as people say they do. I have moved on to a different set up because of it.

Don't bother wasting your money on an expensive connector. The data is digital so it makes no difference as long as the signal can make it across. These cables worked fine connecting my MacBook to my audio receiver.

I use this cable to connect my Mac Mini (2009) to my AV receiver. It outputs digital sound and can handle surround sound as well. The mini-Toslink fits right into the headphone jack and the computer knows to output digital sound. The cable is on the flimsy side and you can tell it costs under a dollar, but the sound is digital so it still sounds pristine.

This does exactly what it's intended to do and it does it well. The cable feels of good quality and the end caps are a nice addition. For the price paid for this cable, and the fact that it's a digital signal, there's no reason to buy anything that's more expensive. I use these with my Macs and Airport Express to create a lossless link for crisp, clear sound. Definitely recommended!
