This camera takes great video. I can take the SD card out and play them in the computer. In low lights the quality is not that good, but without a flash it does a decent job. The issue I had is connecting to the TV and playing the videos. When I connect to the smart TV via micro to standard HDMI cable, I can see the list, but playing the videos is a problem. Sometimes it will play fine, sometimes it will freeze during playback and sometimes won't even play. And each time I unplug the USB cable, I have to reset the camcorder again. Similar issues reported by friends who own the same model. Tried contacting Samsung, did not get much help. Without this issue, could get a 5-star.

This camcorder is pretty simple to use. It definitely is easier to handle, thus we have been recording much more often since we received it in the mail. It takes decent pictures, but I haven't prined any to really check. I didn't realize when I bought this that is is mainly a video recorder. I got it to use at the pool for a camera. It works great for the pool. makes great underwater videos with sound. But if you want to take photos in a low light situation the pictures are horrible. I didn't realize it has no flash. It also takes forever to take a picture after you press the button so almost all of my photos are blurry. Bottomline, great for outdoor activity in the daytime and in wet sitations. Not good for photos or low light. Low light I mean storm clouds overhead and sunset or indoors. I cant return it so my kids are using it to make videos now, but I will have to buy a different camera for pictures cause this doesn't cut it. Also when you turn it on it is set to automatically be in video mode and I cannot figure out how to change any of the settings. I like the buttons and the orientation of the camera. It has a place to attach a lanyard. It takes a micro SD card. Has a nice usb toggle built in so I can plug it into computer to transfer the files and charge it so I dont have to worry about ANOTHER wire to hunt down. It took me days to figure out how to transfer the files over because i had to hunt down the software that it needed. My computer did not recognize the camera when i plug it in. Turning the camera on when you plug it in helped a bit. It also has a function button where when you are taking a video you can pause it and then resume and not have to edit the files together.
