Its a piece of junk. I bought a 70" 3D Sharp Aquos and it came bundled with 2 glasses and this 3D Blu-Ray player. To be quite honest its an insult to the TV it came with and should be an embarassment for Sharp. I would have paid a few more dollars for them not to include this player. To start off this 3D Blu-Ray player constantly hangs (no response from remote), I mean CONSTANTLY. Once it hangs and you go to turn it off it takes almost a minute to turn off. If you want to switch quickly from a Disk movie to Netflix you have to stop it, back out, return to home, click on netflix and hope it doesn't hang.......... all the things that should happen at the click of one button.
If a disk is in the Blu-Ray player when you turn the unit on it doesn't give you the choice to start the movie from the player menu, it automatically assumes you want to watch the movie your kid might have left in and starts the movie, even though you might want to watch Netflix or VUDU. If you do the frustration of stopping the movie and backing out to the player menu starts all over again.
Its slow, unresponsive, frustrating to navigate and lacks wi-Fi. DO NOT waste yor money. It gets one star for actually playing a Blu-Ray.
Im in love and impressed with my Sharp Aquos TV but This 3D Blu-ray player is absolutely terrible.

I read a lot on what people say on AV equipment and to be honest a lot of it is bumph. I like to have equipment that does the job I bought it for, and to know that if there is a problem it will be sorted without much hassle. When my TV died the very nice people at Sharp upgraded my faulty Sharp LC46le821 (a week out of warranty) with a brand new LC46LE831e, which is a 3D TV. I own a pioneer BDP-lx71 which (although top of the range bluray) does not have 3D capability. I was eager to try the 3D and because of the excellent customer service from sharp UK I said I would go for a sharp bluray player to match the TV. Since I had already spent a considerable sum on the Pioneer bluray I did not want to spend a lot to get 3D. So I decided on this bluray. I got it at a snip of £72. I have to say the picture quality and detail is excellent. Sound is passed straight to my Pioneer LX83 and is also excellent. At times there is some motion judder (where picture seems to skip a frame or slows down or speeds and seems a little unatural) but I would put that down to the TV motion settings not the bluray. The HP25u works very well with the LC46LE831e. In terms of the other features I tried them out initially but they're just too finnicky to bother with. I'm not saying they're complicated but I have a media player that plays mkvs better, streams content from my PCs with less hassle, and the TV has the same web content so there isn't any need.In terms of what I bought it for: watching blurays. I have compared it to the Pioneer and would be happy watching movies on either, and have done so without a second thought of which I am using. The sharp load-up times are a hell of a lot faster than the pioneer and it also plays 3D content and plays it well. I use the Pioneer to listen to music CDs because of PQLS on pioneer equipment. However, I now now that Sharp actually own a large share in Pioneer and now make most Pioneer bluray players but not sure if they make the LX71?
Bottom line:
Sharp support is excellent and I would recommend any of their products without hesitation. If you are looking for a no frills 3D bluray player then this will do the job, and do it well. It's worked fine for the first 6 months. Bought the Hobbit 3D and it does not recognize the 1st disk. Took the movie back and exchanged it for another one will not play the first disc either. Plays the 2nd one fine. Tried to upload the latest firmware which was a hassle from a thumb drive and it would not recognize it. Got another thumb drive and it said there was nothing on it. Spent a whole afternoon completely wasted a nice day. Called Sharp and couldn't get through. Not happy. This Blu-ray player is a real entertainment hub! It's even 3D capable! I love that it is wireless, it does all of its updates automatically. Also, unlike the old BD models, its tray opens very quickly. This unit is great quality. It comes with a Netflix interface, the ONLY issue I have with it is that it doesn't also come with Hulu Plus. I understand that every company can't work together but every other wireless capable device comes with Hulu nowadays!
