3D Video Wizard Console with 2 Pack of 3D Adult Glasses

3D Video Wizard Console with 2 Pack of 3D Adult GlassesI bought this on 2-3-12 and had in my hand 2-9-12, would have had it sooner, my my mail in this small town is weird, so shipping was delayed.....neither side was to blame for delay...the joys of Rural area. With that aside, here is my view ont his product.

I hooked my PlayStation 3 and satellite tv to the the Video Wizard and did the update before I did anything. I turned on the playstaion3 and looked like it had 3D, but was off and hard to look at. After playing with settings and on the 48" tv, WOW, 3D was playing on the tv. The color is a little different, but not to the point it takes anything away from the game play or movie watching. I have seen a movie on a 3D TV with the emulator and heavy battery operated glasses. I have watched on the non battery glasses too. As I stated, there is a difference, but nothing overwhelming and for the mere fraction of cost...ummm...cant beat it or complain.

I have played God of War Origins collection downloaded from PlayStation Network, I can not even begin to describe the new level of play. I will never play God of War in 2D again. I have also played the latest release of Mortal Kombat 3D, fatalities are so unreal now. Starburst from the PlayStation Network actually was making me a bit dizzy until I got use to it. The new dimension was again unreal. I have played here and there other 3D games and all I can say, I am beyond impressed with the Video Wizard. I have also watched 3D movies and the 2D to 3D option, and still I am impressed. In fact, I am planning to buy 2 more units for our bedroom and our son's room. This really has blown me away. I rather pay what I did to have 3D, then to go buy a $1k TV, if not more, plus cost of emulator/glasses. This product may not be 100% perfect...but sure comes very close. The company the makes it is has the best costumer service I have come across for online support.

The Pros:

very small and lightweight.

Very easy to install

Menu/Option very easy to use

Remote very small

Price unbeatable

Glasses are stylish

Screen is very clear ( when settings are correct )

The Cons ( even these are not bad)

Glasses(adult size)take a bit getting use too at first

Glasses(children size) really are small....toddler size

The Video Wizard must be turned on to watch regular tv or play regular game system. *Note* that is if you keep your devices connected to the Video Wizard. You are unable to bypass while Video Wizard is off.

Small remote...smaller then a credit card and thick as about 4 stacked quarters .... making it all to easy to lose. However has a small hole in corner for say a key ring...take advantage of it.

Overall, this is one the best devices I have used out there and for the price, cant beat it. I would/will recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy 3D without putting a massive hole in your pocket or emptying your bank account.

After reading all of the reviews of the 3D Video Wizard, I was very hesitant about the purchase. I found 12 total reviews online, when doing the math, all the reviews led me to a 50/50 decision. But I went ahead and ordered it anyways. The setup was quick and easy. I first tried a 2d to 3d conversion on my HDTV and the 3D worked alright. Toy Story 3 2D had a level of depth to the point of being able to notice the background from the front images. Tried several other 2D movies as well with not much more depth than that. Also tried a 3D SBS bluray and the 3D was nearly as good as if it was a 3DTV with good colorful picture. The best results from what I can tell will be on a screen larger than at least 37" and with an actual 3D movie from a 3D device rather than the 2D to 3D conversion, even though it does work alright. Where this box came worth the $100 I payed for it was with a friends PS3. The PS3 system autodetected that the TV was now compatible with 3D and enabled the 3D setting. Games looked best overall, but I also enjoyed some actual 3D movies on it with the quality about 90% of what you would get on a 3DTV. If your expecting movie theater 3D, then this is not gonna be a good purchase. But what can you expect for $100. Overall, I was decently happy with the purchase and will be keeping the box. I noticed one of the reviews said that the glasses were red/cyan, but this is not the case. The glasses are blue/amber which allows for alot less color loss than the old red/cyan. Alright product!

Ok here's the real truth about the 3D Video Wizard. If you are looking for an all out 3d extravaganza, that is going to out due the rest of the 3d tv, and add on perrifial on the market? You will be little disappointed. But if you have an open mind about this product going into it, take the time to set it up correctly, and are wiling to invest in a $80 3d bluray player, this devise will surprise you, at the quality picture it will produce for you. First off it will produce a 1080p resolution picture. There is minimal to no motion blur. It will produce a 3d image on standard, and blu ray dvd players, xbox 360, ps3, and cable, or satalite recievers. Where this thing truley shines is with a 3D bluray player, combined with a 3d bluray dvd. The picture quality has a slight loss of color, and brightness, but it more than makes up for it in the 3D display. Note the brightnes can be adjusted with the remote, but to much brightness will distort the picture. Let me be clear of what, I mean when I say 3D display. With 3D dvd's bullets and glass will be exiting the screen, also this devise does do something that alot of other 3D tv's do not. Your entire movie, is in a 3D realm, all characters, and objects stand out from there envoirnment which makes for a very cool viewing. Some 3D tv's only show some things in 3D. While watching Transformers Dark of the Moon, I was amazed at how every aspect of Optimus Prime stood out, in full deminsion. You could see the curvature of the wheels as he transformed. At the begining of, Dark of the Moon, on cybertron, I could see amazing depth into the planet, explossions came to life, and ships passing by felt real. That whole scene was amazing. I felt as though, I was actually in this world. Thor was amazing to watch, as well as Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt2, and Hugo. All have outstanding effect, which flow freely from the screen. The first movie, I bought was 3D Aquarium, which can be bought from amazon for about $11. This actually showed me what this devise could do. The system displayed this movie as if though you were standing in front of a full motion aquarium with amazing depth. It looked as if though an aquarium was placed in front me with a front to back depth of about 2 to 3 feet. If you read all of the info carefully, it clearly tells you that this devise works best with a 3d player, and it truely does. Every 3D movie, I have watched so far has a nice 3D enviornment. Sharpe, objects stand out, and have depth. Fire burns with curvature , dust particles, and snow truely comes at the screen, and actually flow from the screen into your living room. Harry potter has a scene where a white drago bursts through a floor, and actually came out of the screen my children were amazed. Hugo is also amazing on this devise, full of live, with free flowing movement, and dust particle entering into my living room. This devise actually has a automatic setting for blu ray players to give you the best effects. Standard dvd's video game, standard dvd, etc, have to be manually adjusted to your viewing style. Video game are so so as well, I was not amazed, but it was cool for awhile. All in all for around $200 buck you can view some great effect for the whole family. My advise is to take your time read the instruction carefully, update the firmware ocassionally as you add new movies to your collection, and enjoy. In my opion for $200 this is not a bad deal. Sure is a small feat to give up, compared to paying $2000 for a tv, glasses and 3D bluray player.

I have my system paired with a 2006 1080p samsung dlp, sony 3d blu ray dvd player. Place this thing on a newer 120hz plasma, and it will probally blow you away.

PROS:

1. Very emersive 3D enviornment

2. 1080p resolution

3. No motion blur

4. 2 hdmi inputs

5. Works with every device that uses hdmi

6. Cost, $200 gets you ( 3d wizard, 3d blu ray player, extra glasses, and a couple of 3d movie

CONS:

1. Picture color is a little faded

2. Picture is a little darker, But can be adjusted a little with remote.

3. Does not work exceptionally well with video games, and none 3D formated sorces

4. Remote is borderline usless

5. Must have 3D player to get best quality picture

I saw this item advertised on QVC for $99.96 late-night one night and wondered if it really could work. A couple of days later I decided to buy it but I wanted to get it cheaper so I came to Amazon and there it was but for fifteen dollars less than QVC. The only difference was that the QVC version came with six sets of 3D glasses and the Amazon version came with 2 sets. Well I ordered the 3D conveter from Amazon and 32.5 hours later, it was at my front door. I immediately opened the box, read the instructions and connected my 3D blu-ray player to the converter and the converter to my hdtv. I then ran out and bought two 3D movies and WOW, I now can watch 3D on my 2D hdtv. This is a great product if you can't afford an hdtv with built-in 3D, but remember that it works best when connected to a 3D device such as a 3D blu-ray player or a 3D game console as well as 3D software such as a 3D blu-ray movie or a 3D video game.

I never write reviews for items I buy. But I read over 100 reviews before deciding the price was low enough to try this out. If it wasn't for the reviews I may not have bought this, so I decided to share my experience.

I'm an audio/videophile, so I was not expecting much from a $50 external converter. I must say, the complaints on here are either from people who did not set this up properly (hard to believe as its so simple) or they expected results like a high end 3DTV.

This thing is $50. Start your expectations there and you won't be dissapointed. At first I thought it was just OK. Cool little gadget, checked out Monsters Inc. 3D. the 3D effect was "ok".

Before deciding I would either sell it, or ship it back, I decided to try some more.

I downloaded a demo vid for an LG 3DTV (like the vids the play in stores to show maximum effect) The demo vid I got showed clips from 3D sports and games. Then it showed a clip from IMAX Under the Sea 3D. The fish literally popped out of my TV into my living room. So make sure you try a really good 3D source. I was literally blown away. My personal value of this product jumped from $50 to $200-$300 instantly.

The color difference is minimal with the glasses. Its not red and blue like the old days. The colors used on these glasses make it mush easier to retain the orignal colors of your movie. Only when bright whites and yellows are all over the screen do you really notice the difference from the glasses. No, its not like watching with active shutter glasses, but again this whole package costs less than one pair of those glasses.

So to sum up, the 3D effect is amazing for the price, but the source of 3D is key. Old movies rereleased in 3D are okay, but to take full advantage, watch a dedicated 3D channel, BluRay, Game or Movie (Especially IMAX releases) If you still complain, you're hard to please and should never have bought a $50 unit in hopes of not having to pay for a high end TV.
