Easy set up associated with the wireless no issues. However, would place the sub-titles on all DVD's automatically, they would not turn off for love nor money. Blu-Ray no issues, did not place the sub-titles automatically, absolutely stunning picture & resolution for Blu-Ray. Called Amazon they were willing to accept a return due to the DVD issues, finally as a last ditch effort called Sharp tech support.Sharp had me reset the system has a memory, the memory was wonky (best description available), once it was reset the issues with the DVD's were resolved. DVD up scaling is excellent.
System is slow to load a Blu-Ray, compared to the Panasonic Blu-Ray 210, does not have all of the fine tuning features that the Panasonic has, but, due to the fact that I have a Sharp TV am retaining the unit since they work well together and the picture is so amazing. Limited features to tweak the Blu-Ray play back compared to the Panasonic, limited selection of network features. NetFlix, Vudu, Pandora all work very, very well, retains the log ins (unlike the Samsung that I did return). Streams video & audio from NetFlix, Vudu and Pandora with no glitches, seamless, little slow to load, but after loaded no lags, lapses, black screens or hiccups in the streaming. If you reset be prepared to re-associate everything, WFIF, NetFlix, Vudu and Pandora. 3-D works very well, again does not have the ability to tweak the 3-D that Panasonic does, but it does not need tweaking, excellent playback of 3-D Blu-Ray from this machine.
Expensive if you are in the market for a really awesome picture this is the ticket, however the Panasonic 210 or 310 is right behind it on picture quality. So far very happy with this player. It is mounted sleekly on the wall next to my flat screen in my bedroom where there really wasn't room for a table or console to put a regular player on. It is easy to use and the quality is great. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for a wall-mountable DVD player they are hard to find! BTW you do need to purchase the 70mm VESA mount separately it was $20 at Best Buy, but I'm sure you could find one for less on Amazon.

I've had this product for almost a year now, and have had nothing but issues with it. I purchased at Best Buy, and according to them and to Sharp it is the best model that they have out. I should have gone with a Sony. There are issues with playing disks, connecting to my wireless internet (had a g wireless, and have now upgraded to N and it connects most of the time), and with shutting it off. When the unit has been playing for a full length movie it freezes, or if your on netflix it will freeze when try to shut it off and the only way it will turn off is if you plug the plug. The last update for it was back in March(BC11021000 firmware).Read Best Reviews of Sharp BD-HP90U Blu-ray Disc Player - 1080p Here
Other Blu-rays are frustrating slow. This one is amazing quick. Easy to set up and use. Great styling to match my 60" flat-screen too!I purchased this unit from Amazon about a month ago. It's touted as the flagship and latest technology from Sharp and I have no idea why this player doesn't work. The first week it did everything very well, as stated in it's advertisement, then it wouldn't play Blue Ray discs... Upon reading the manual cover to cover, the only trouble shooting advice was to "clean the disc" I was playing brand new disc purchased especially for this item. We watch five hours of DVD's three days a week, that's it. It played the regular DVD's wonderfully and with the level of upscaling, they look like Blue Ray discs. Then three weeks later, it stopped playing the DVD's. In both cases, it would reject the disc saying incompatible.... even the discs it played previously the three weeks before. I looked for hours on the internet for reasons and solutions for this. THERE ARE NONE. They will tell you it needs firm ware updating. The unit is only a month old, why? I live remote rural and am not interested in taking the unit over a hundred miles to the nearest service dealer, waiting weeks for something that's built to just play discs but doesn't. I wanted to match a sharp product with my sharp Quatron television, which functions perfectly. From my research, it seems the Blue Ray technology is not yet stabilized and every manufacturer approaches it differently, some well, others not so well. I should have taken more heed to the other low ratings for the other Sharp model BD players, but figured with this model, they worked out the kinks. They didn't. If a small percentage of humidity and a tiny smudge keep this player from functioning or recognizing a "compatible" disc, then it's not functional at any cost.
