I used a couple of these for a home theater installation to apply each HDMI wall plate in multiple gang installations: 1 in a dual voltage box(120VAC/HDMI) behind the TV (2-gang), the other, also dual voltage, 4-gang(120VAC/speaker/speaker/HDMI), behind the AV components. I picked the Pyles since they seemed to be the best value & I was in a rush to order something to have something to install & stay on schedule.

During the installation, I knew from previous experience, the 2 piece 5.1 speaker terminal wall plates I typically use were a tight fit but would work with a little force. So this was anticipated. My progress came to a screeching halt when trying a dry fit (align the plates) before screwing the trim plate on. The trim plate would NOT fit around the HDMI wall plate no matter what ugh.

Using a box knife & different files, I had to enlarge the hole big enough to go around the HDMI wall plate while my customer watched for an hour or so. By the way, I always use nylon trim plates so I can trim them in times like this standard (hard) plates shatter. I have plenty of custom fabrication experience from my car-audio installation day so this was a problem I could manage but I hate wasting time. What does one do if there is no other option in order to finish a job?

Also worth noting this wall plate does not have the ears at the top & bottom of the yoke to keep left & right sides even for a perfectly flush installation. What a pain if the drywall behind is not perfect.

These ship with their own single gang Decora trim plate. If you plan to use in a multiple gang installation I'd stay away from these & keep looking.

I had it for my music system and projector TV. The pin got pushed back in and had trouble installing it but now it works and for the price I paid, I did not expect much.
