It recorded as indicated when just set to record with the remote. Records Movie minutes, filled the memory card over night, it did seem to work well even in low light. What I wanted to do was use the IR feature to start taking single frame pictures when movement was detected. To properly configure it you had to have a device that would accept RCA jacks to be able to access the programable memory system. Very few use RCA jacks these days, a USB connection would have been easier and less expensive. I had to by a converter to take it from RCA to a digital format and then a cable to connect the converter to a monitor. Yes you can just pull the memory card out and plug in to a computer but you still have to be able to program it to do what you want.

I'm very pleased with this product, it works very well. And is very easy to use....It works well in low light.

Great quality video, but unfortuantely has no sound built in.. Either way, works great as a hidden security camera for a room or office. Very discreet, and better than those hidden camera movement sensors...
