Bought this in the summer of 2012 and just got round to installing it. very simple install. Easy firmware upgrade if you have a usb thumb drive. this was a 4 camera unit for about $250. Cheap. Can view remote using IE but NOT firefox or safari. No plugins exist so if you are a mac user you're not going to be able to monitor or control the dvr. works well on IE though. Video quality is not terrible, but not great either. Grainy but usable. You get what you pay for. I got a foscam IP camera (ptz) as a separate system and that is an amazing camera for only $75 but crazy good video quality and has lots of features. works on safari and firefox too, and works well on the iphone.
