I purchased this recorder for research purposes. I had to conduct many interviews and group discussions. This recorder worked great. It picked up voices of individuals sitting at the far end of the table (when the microphone was placed in the center of the table). And the one-on-one interviews were so crisp. I highly recommend this recorder for researchers, reporters and students. And it was dependable. I taped hours and hours of interviews. The storage capacity is amazing. My only criticism would be the buttons are very loud, so if you have to pause, or stop a recording, and restart, it's very noticeable during a recording. Perhaps there is a way to silence the button tones but I have looked and looked for that feature. No luck. The volume only controls the playback.
