My three year old grandchild and I like to listen to Raffi songs, and had to borrow his parents Bose CD player....soooo, I bought him this, so I didn't have to worry about that expensive unit. It works great! Nice sound and he can use it well....better than I expected!! P.S. at the time it was $27

We bought this boombox for our newborn son to play his music to him. From the first time we used it, we noticed that when turned all the way up or even half way up, the sound cuts in and out. We constanlty have to jiggle the cord or move the cd player around to volume to work properly. When the sound is working properly though, I do have to say that it is a pretty good little boombox with great sound.

I bought this machine on Dec 12th, 2012 for my 3-year-old son to paly story CD borrowed from the library. I received it between Dec 18 and 21, 2012. I used it only for 3 or 4 times with 10 minutes each time. After that, I didn't use it for a long time because I didn't get time to borrow more CDs from the library. I tried to play a music CD for my son tonight before he went to sleep, but I found this machine doesn't work any more. When I pressed the "Play" button, it didn't work. I felt so strange and unbelievable because it's a brand new machine so I originally thought it might be my CD's problem. I changed to another CD but the same problem occurred. I repeated to turn off the machine and turn it on again in order to fix the problem, but it still didn't work. I tried to press other buttons to make it work, but it's totally malfunctioned! I can't believe a simple CD player at $44.99 plus the shipping charge only worked for 3 or 4 times and has become defective! I feel so disappointed about its bad quality! I have sent an email to the seller to see if they'll return this defective item for me with full refund. I'll write more reviews when I get an answer from the seller.

On 3/22/13, just update my review for this item. I've never received any response from this manufacture regarding the defective machine. I'm feeling its after-sales service is very poor at this point. Very disappointed for both the quality of the product and the service of this company.

This little number sits right in the corner on the bedstead and works just fine for books on tape or relaxation tapes. One reviewer said it is LOUD volume-wise, so keep that in mind when you use it the first time...a little spin on the dial goes a long way. I like the fact that it's easy to use and not too big. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I don't know how durable it will be. Just bought it 3 months ago for my 4 yr old neice. I wanted something that would be easy for her to operate herself and this has been great. My sister says she uses it all the time and loves it. She listens to her books on CD mostly. The simple technology and big front facing buttons make it great for little hands. A great choice for kids!
