Karaoke function does not work.
I called Coby technical support. They have no way to make it work.
They asked me to return it to Amazon.Just got this Coby dvd/karaoke player yesterday so Im going to give my initial impressions. I bought it as a karaoke player primarily and was concerned after reading other peoples reviews here, but my worries were unfounded. I also ordered one of those karaoke singing machines last yr and it was a piece of junk, returned it and got another lemmon...so just got a refund...
Ok, the manual that comes with it virtually tells you nothing so I had to figure it out myself...to get sound out of the mics you have to click the red setup button on the remote, click over to the music symbol and scroll down to microphone...then enable it...coming from the factory theres too much echo and the mics arent loud enough, I had to figure out how to adjust them too...again click the red setup button, music symbol..click echo and then adjust it with the volume button on the remote, same goes for mic volume..once I did this she was working like a charm! Buy the 395 song cg-g medly here (awesome..38 bucks) two $15 mics and youre good to go! I also liked the fact that this unit has two mic jacks to plug into, and theyre both on the front face which makes things easy....not sure about the durability but so far so good, two thumbs up and highly reccomended!I doubt that I have played 25 movies in this DVD player over the last 8 months. First the DVD picture would fade in and out (light and dark) .. then the power button started to mess up .. only working when it wanted to. Finally, it ate a rental disc, making a bunch of noise. I had to take it apart to retrieve the disc. The karaoke microphone works good though. Overall, it was a bad experience, and I will not buy a Coby anything again.What a rugged little player. I use this when I host karaoke shows and it gets tossed around pretty good, and still keeps on going. I will be buying another one to have as a backup.

Product works with all formats of karaoke. a couple of cons is.. you cannot do individual microphone volume, and you have to change settings every time you turn it on. Echo and mic vol. also you cannot control mic volume or echo from front of machine.. must be done by remote.. Pros.. you don't need remote for cd play functions.. which is HUGE for parties and lost remotes! :)Has outputs so you can "ADD" another music system.. I can sing through mine.. with the radio .. another bonus. All in all, its a good machine.. and great price.
