Swann SW344-DWD-US000 ADW-400 Digital Guardian Camera and Recorder (Gray)

Swann SW344-DWD-US000 ADW-400 Digital Guardian Camera and RecorderDo not think the system will over write previous video. Fills the SD chip and quits. half a dozen calls to SWANN and they are clueless. The motion detection is a joke. Save your money and buy a real security camera system.

Too difficult to set up outside your house. For example, to mount this camera outside my front door I would have to drill through the house, find a compatible cord that long, then plug into a convenient(sarcasm)outlet and try and hide the cord. Problem two is it turns off with a power outage and doesn't turn back on by itself. Another problem is the motion detector is too sensitive. It records and records till it fills up the memory card. It's time consuming to sift through a mere hour of memory. I want to add that you can supposedly set the program to erase earlier recordings once the memory card becomes full, but this is not working, so my little card fills up in a matter of an hour. I don't dare buy a bigger card.

A couple of these problems are fixable, but the motion detector

being too sensitive and the system not erasing earlier recordings when full is a deal breaker! I might try and adjust the camera to look at a stationary part of my deck out back, but the field of view might be limited. Seriously though a moth flies by and its on camera! Too sensitive! buy a better system that doesn't have these flaws!

Set up this system and tested it several times connected to a video display (TV).

It worked, and we could see clearly persons in the camera view even in dim light.

However, with the "Arm" button always glowing red on the receiver, it was hard to know whether the system was "armed" or not! Next texted the system NOT hooked to

a video device. Was unable to read the tested results either from the receiver hooked up to a TV or by reading from my computer (even downloaded software as SWANN recommended). My thought was that should we need to read the SD if we had a breakin, someone surely would be able to read the SD. What happened next, however,

did not occur to us...we left for a 2 week trip the day before hurricane Irene arrived in our area. The electric went out...no big deal, we have a large, whole-house automatic generator that kicks on in 15 seconds. What we forgot was that the

SWANN "security" system would have to be physically turned on again and armed.

Bottom line I am ready to return this system for something we can rely on when we're not home!!! Two calls to SWANN did not help in being able to read the

SanDisk Ultra 32GB card. Having just returned from vacation, I have not yet called SWANN for their comments.

This camera system would be be decent if the motion detector was not so sensitive. I called tech suppport and they said there is no way to adjust it. It fills up the SD card in less than 1 day. Not so good if you are gone for 1 week and want too see what happenned around the house when you get home.

I have had mine two and a half stories up on my house for almost two years. It still works great BUT, it is slowly starting to get moister leaks in the front where the cam is and the inferred lights that really don't see anything unless you have flood lights to back it up at night. The moister leaks have shorted out the inferred lights for night vision but the cam is still going, for how long I don't know. I will say it has been through some very heavy and intense rain storms along with high winds. I would rather say moister leaking into front of cam when it rains for days.

Otherwise it is ok. I bought a second cam only to find out you can only record with one cam at a time to an SD card. You can have from four cams but after you have more than one cam online you can't record all of them, ONLY ONE CAM!!!

Do yourself a favor, spend another two or three hundred bucks and buy a non wireless cam that is not plastic. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

This cam has always given a clear picture, the mic is for crap unless your standing under it with a megaphone. Well actually the mic picks up car engines almost three blocks away coming down the road. After two years i can tell a ford, toyota, chevy coming before the cam see's it! Big deal!

It works but if I where you, I would spend more money.

Coby 1.44-Inch TFT LCD SNAPP Mini Camcorder/Camera CAM3001 (Black)

Coby 1.44-Inch TFT LCD SNAPP Mini Camcorder/Camera CAM3001 The Snapp is kinda cute. I bought it as a gift for me 8 year old niece, but decided to open it up and play with it before hand. It's a good thing I did!

Pros: It's small & compact

Easy to use

No need for the disc that's included.

Cons: The case it comes with is thinner than a regualr sock and half as protective.

You HAVE to purchase an SD card in order to use it,it wont allow you to take pics/video without it.

It feels kinda cheap in your hand but I think it's because it's lighter than I had anticipated. Over all, easy to use, great for a kid or someone just looking for a cheap camcorder:) I would totaly buy this again for my niece or even as a cheap toy for myself. Buy an SD card and a case if you'll need it adn it's a great buy!

I bought the Snapp for my children as Christmas presents. They were more inexpensive than the toy video camcorders and work quite well for the price.

FILMING

For the video review, I filmed some sample footage and took photos in different lighting conditions to show what quality can be expected. I used the highest quality setting. Of course, it isn't the best, but I wouldn't expect it to be for the price. The children find it quite acceptable, and they figure out what its limitations are pretty quickly. Basically, use it under well lit conditions.

The screen is small, like that of many toy cameras. It flips open so the children can see themselves when taking self-portraits.

There is a zoom and hi/lo resolution settings. The operation is otherwise simple. No other camera or camcorder settings are available. Flash is not included. Photos and videos may be played back on the little screen.

WHAT IT COMES WITH

The camcorder comes with a USB connector built in, which is nice for times when you need a memory slot on the computer and don't have one (e.g., the old computer in my kitchen).

A cord is included to connect the camcorder to the television. The kids love that. It's easy for them to set up themselves and they like watching their product on the big screen.

The case is very thin cloth material. It's such a cheap camcorder, that I wouldn't expect it to come with a case at all, so it was nice that one was included.

I installed the included software, because I thought my kids could use it to edit the videos and photos. It turns out to just be a viewer, which I don't need, so I immediately uninstalled it.

Batteries are also included.

CONS

The only problem is a lack of flash for indoor shots. I wish they had included one. It also requires a memory card, which is not included.

CONCLUSION

I am satisfied with this purchase. It does everything I expected of it for what I paid (about 56% off the list price). My kids are thrilled.

It feels more like a cheap toy, but so it far has functioned fairly well, and mechanically it is pretty easy to use...My main problem is while it is easy to move between the video, camera and playback options the screen is very subject to glare and it is often diffcult to see what option the camera is set to, or what is actaully in the viewfinder when outdoors in the sunlight. That being said, you get what you pay for, and I actually think (since the the cost of this product is so cheap) that this product provides more than one would expect for the cost.

What would you expect to get out of a hand held digital recorder for under twenty bucks? If you answered, "Very little.", then this is the product for you. It is cheaply made, but I expected that. The software included doesn't really do anything, but I expected that. You will find it difficult to capture 12 seconds of useful video. Now that caught me off guard. I figured I'd get low quality videos and images. What I didn't realize is that unless you're filming on the surface of Mercury, you will NEVER have enough light to capture any video or images. I always end up with several minutes of blank screen. On the plus side, the sound does work. I read the bad reviews and bought this anyway. Take my advice, and don't make that same mistake. Move along; nothing to see here.

It's decent and probably similar to a typical cell phone camera but easier to use. Picture quality is good in full daylight but tends to get worse when indoors.

Zmodo 16CH Real-time Security DVR System with 1TB HDD & 8 Sony CCD Outdoor Surveillance Cameras

Zmodo 16CH Real-time Security DVR System with 1TB HDD & 8 Sony CCD Outdoor Surveillance CamerasI read reviews for several security camera systems before deciding on this one. There were no reviews on this particular one,but I had looked into the Zmodo systems, and this one had everything that I wanted at a good price, plus the prime shipping,so I took a chance on this one. Overall I am very pleased, even though the cameras are not actually Sony brand. From what I understand, they are Zmodo cameras with a Sony chip in them, but they work fine, and that is all that matters to me.I have read many negative reviews about most all of the camera systems, including the big name brands, but I really think that most of that is due to people having unrealistic expectations. They are security cameras people, your not going to get a stunning HD experience. I'm sure there are cameras out there that have a clearer picture than these, but they are going to cost alot more! Considering that you are getting eight cameras and a 1 terabyte DVR,you really can't beat these for the price. The picture you get during the day is actually quite good, the night vision is a bit dark if there are no lights around, but it does the job. The only real gripe I have is that the wires that go to the cameras are easily tangled, and that makes for some aggravation when running them, but even that isn't a real big deal. All in all,it's a great system for people like me who want security, without breaking the bank.

Easy to install and set up. Daylight video quality is very good. The nighttime quality is poor in areas without significant ambient light. On my well lit porches it works very well. In dark areas the IR illuminators faintly lights only the center of the image for less than 10 feet. But since it is 16 channel I can buy better cameras over time and move the included cameras to well lit areas. I don't think you will do any better without spending far more.

Panasonic DVD-LV55 Portable DVD Player

Panasonic DVD-LV55 Portable DVD Player
  • Portable DVD/CD/Video CD player with built-in 5-inch LCD screen
  • DTS and Dolby Digital compatible
  • 5-speed smooth scan
  • Built-in stereo speakers
  • Superthin design for convenient travel

This little unit, while being on the small side in terms of screen size, is great. I travel cross-country on planes at least twice/week and have never been able to sleep while sitting in the ever-shrinking, upright, rigid airline seats; this device has made these sardine-can trips bearable!

Pros: better than expected sound out of little speakers; ease of hookup to full size monitor; easy-to-operate controls on both remote and unit top; bright picture, even in bright light conditions; electronic brightness and color adjustment controls; battery life (3.5 hours with a "0" brightness setting on a -5 to 5 scale) that averages better than listed in the specifications (2.5-3 hours); stands up to jostling and bumping of airline travel well (skip-free play sideways and inverted); extended electronic sound processing features (simulates theatre surround modes while using headset); healthy substitute for full-size DVD player in the home

Cons: battery cannot charge while unit is plugged in and in use (i.e., must be turned off to charge); remote cannot be used while unit is operating on battery power; manual is poorly organized, but after a couple of times through, the technically-challenged can operate this unit; no carrying case or headphones packaged with unit; lack of dynamic range dampening feature requires a quick finger on the volume control when using a headset; (not completely sure about this but) optical output jack on the back of the unit is not truly optical-cable compatible

Suggestions: for successful audio during air travel, get a noise-dampening headset that either covers the ear completely or some headphones/earbuds that insert into the ear canal; if you connect to external monitors routinely, invest in an S-video cable as well (not included with model, but RCA style video and audio cables are).

I compared this 5" model to the larger screen Panasonic model and found that the extra money for the latter wasn't warranted. With this unit roughly 15 inches from my eyes, the picture is crisp, but not too grainy ("liney") and I have yet to come across a movie where something wasn't resolved well enough on the screen to see it.

I give it 5 stars for overall quality and ease of use minus a star for not including a case and headphones. Bottom line: pros far outweigh cons, great bang for the buck.

I bought one of these immediately after a particularly frustrating transcontinental flight, so I wasn't in the best frame of mind when I made my choice. I also only had a choice between this one and one made by Pioneer.

Nevertheless, after two very long business trips I have been extremely satisfied. I not only used it during the flights to watch videos, but also to listen to CDs. The battery lasts for slightly longer than 3 hours (just about as long as I want headphones on my head) and easily charges up overnight. (In the future, if I do longer trips, I might consider buying a second, backup battery.) Additionally, the unit seems rugged. I use a soft-sided totebag for travel, rather than a hard-sided briefcase, and it gets thrown/stuffed/mushed around a lot. I liked the fact that the unit was small enough, even with the battery pack, to allow me to cram a lot of other stuff in with it. (You know how we women are with our handbags and travelbags!)

The hotels I stayed at only had about 10 channels available for viewing on their TV, so I also used this unit in the evenings, for both DVDs and CDs. This allows me to catch up on all of those alternate soundtracks on DVDs -something that I'm often too busy to do at home.

One very small complaint I have is that the picture seems a little grainy. However, I could have bought the Pioneer unit sitting in the display case next to this one, which had both a very good quality picture as well as a slightly larger one, but cost ($) more. Obviously, price was a factor in my decision.

This unit didn't come with headphones, so make sure you purchase a set when you get yours. The unit's speakers sound pretty tinny but what else could you expect in a small DVD player? Use the headphones, which have a perfectly acceptable sound. And don't forget, you can select two settings that simulate surround-sound. I found that some DVDs had an improved sound with these settings, but some didn't. (There may be a technical explanation for this but I can't tell you what it is.)

The unit comes with a remote but it only works when the unit is running off of a wall outlet. I found that for basic watching, the unit's own buttons can get you through any DVD menu selections, forward/freeze/reverse/zoom options, or player setup you wish to do. (Note that most home DVD players don't have enough buttons, and require the remote for accessing all of its functions.)

I found the instructions easy to follow -I'm the type of person who reads almost every page -and was soon able to navigate through the unit's setup menus.

Overall, considering this unit's price, the amount of features provided, and the enjoyment I've gotten with it, I consider this a very good deal.

One last thought. If you travel with a laptop, why get one of these? Well, if your laptop has a DVD drive, you don't really have to get one of these. However, I like how compact this unit is, allowing me a little more privacy. No...I don't watch any X-rated stuff, but I also do consider my fellow travelers who might not want to see any explicit scenes in their peripheral line of sight. I can also fit this along with a cup of coffee, a snack, or a book (when listening to a CD)on the seat tray. When listening to a CD, this unit fits into my lap or between me and my handrest more easily than a laptop would.

The quality is second to none! Not only was I shocked at how wonderful and workable the five inch screen is when you hold it on your lap, it's the same ratio as watching on a 52 inch TV several feet away. The surround sound is incredible and really works even via headphones! I sit in my back yard late at night and enjoy great movies the overall enjoyment and relaxation is better then watching from a large screen TV in my living room. This is the best product I've ever bought!

Want Panasonic DVD-LV55 Portable DVD Player Discount?

Though the LV55 is advertised as having a 5" screen, the actual viewable screen size is 4.8" diagonal, with a 16:9 width-to-height ratio just like a widescreen TV. There are several "display modes" that let you change the image size. One of them lets you enlarge a non-anamorphic image so it will fill the whole screen (albeit resulting in a more pixellated, less sharp display). One of the display modes turns off the display, so that you can save battery power while playing audio CDs.

The LV55 has a screen resolution of 280,000 pixels, which comes to about 700x400 pixels. This is less than the 720x480 resolution that a DVD is able to deliver, but it is enough to give a clear, sharp picture.

This player only lets you adjust color saturation and brightness, and not hue and contrast. Using "Video Essentials" and "Avia Guide to Home Theater" to test the display, I find that the display has a slight over-saturation of red, and cannot display certain grey scales (which could cause "dithering" in playing black-and-white movies). Also, the player has some built-in edge enhancement that strikes me as rather excessive, resulting in "halos" appearing around borders.

The display also has the common overscan problem, which results in a little bit of picture cut off from the left and right sides of the image. Overscanning is common on most consumer CRT and LCD displays.

The built-in speakers produce expectedly tinny sound, considering the player only uses 13 watts of power. A good pair of earphones or headphones is a must, but even so, the advantage of a 5.1 soundtrack is totally lost without 5.1 speakers. There is a "dialog enhancer" feature that raises the volume of the center channel sound, which is useful in a noisy environment. There is also a "dynamic range compression" feature that lowers the volume of loud sound if you feel the soundtrack is too overwhelming.

The LV55 is able to play DVD-Video discs with Dolby Digital or DTS sound, audio CDs, and Video CDs (VCDs). Although the manual says it does not play CD-R discs, it does play CD-R discs that are copied from audio CDs and VCDs.

The player can also send Dolby Digital or DTS signal to an external DD/DTS decoder's optical input, although you need to obtain a miniplug-to-Toslink cable yourself. It can send its video signal (via RCA or S-Video cable) to an external monitor. It can also receive video from, say, a camcorder, so you can view it on the display.

With the battery pack attached, the LV55 weighs 2 pounds and is 1.5 inches thick, which is a little too bulky for me. But I do like the fact that the screen can be flipped open to an almost 180-degree angle, and that the playback is not affected even if I don't hold the player horizontally; that gives me great flexibility in viewing positions.

I bought this unit to use for travel and it's turned into an invaluable and indispensible little unit. The unit has worked perfectly for my daughters to watch Jackie Chan movies on road trips and for me on business trips. Not only does the battery last for two movies (~3.5 hours+), but the picture is fantastic.

This unit cannot be beat for the money.

The only con is the lack of some sort of dynamic compression circuit. Many DVDs have too much dynamic range to be heard properly through headphones on a noisy plane. Invest in a noise cancelling set of headphones and you'll be VERY happy with this unit.

Wildview Infrared Digital Video Recorder with 24 IR Emitters, 32 MB Memory

Wildview Infrared Digital Video Recorder with 24 IR Emitters, 32 MB MemoryFor the amount charged, I don't believe there is a better deal than the Wildview 5.0 mp IR game camera. Sure, there are more pricey brands available with extra features that SOME of us may find necessary. After 12 weeks of use, I am pleased with the day/night picture quality of the Wildview unit. The 5mp daylight color images can be zoomed to get a closer look w/o loosing adequate picture quality. Yes, there have been a few "false" triggers but it comes with a 1gig SD card (for well over 100 images) and I have a 2gig back-up to exchange when I'm curious. The 30' trigger range is not ideal but can be overcome by setting the camera at active locations. I have obtained several sets of images, so far, of deer at about 35'-40' under clear sky in open woods. (Go figure?) My son and I will purchase additional units to monitor active mineral sites and active deer trails. These 5mp IR units are a giant step improvement over earlier models. If you're interested in monitoring an area or just curious about what's around, these are great fun and affordable cameras. Make sure the camera is about 4.5'-6' off the ground with a 1"diameter stick at the top rear for improved coverage area. Our best results have been with a 1 min. delay with 3 pictures per triggering.

This was the second WildView camera I've purchased, the first one was a regular flash model that has worked well for two years particularly through our very cold winters.

So I decided to buy this IR model. It worked great...for the FIRST TWO WEEKS. Then it quit.

Called the company. They said no problem, send it back and they'd replace it. Two weeks after I knew they'd received it, I called to find out the status on the replacement. A very nice gentleman informed me that they were on back order.

Three weeks more pass with nothing from WildView. I just called and was told it still on BACK ORDER WITH NO ESTIMATE FOR DELIVERY. They won't refund my money because I bought it from Amazon. Can't get a refund from Amazon because WildView now has the camera.

If you do buy one and it breaks, send it back to Amazon. Don't even try to exchange it with WildView. They have a serious problem in their supply chain and, quite possibly, their quality control at the factory (probably in China).

Amazon claims to still have these units in stock. WildView should buy the Amazon stock and send out the replacement units. I have to wonder just how many replacement units they have on back order.

I'm going to have to buy another camera in the interim (definitely NOT a WildView) since I have no idea how long they're going to sit on this problem.

When I purchased this for my father-in-law I was looking for something simple to use that gave him good picture quality. I got that and more. Its very simple to use and the picture quality is great! The night pictures are crisp and clear. Suprised at the quality of this camera after I had priced more expensive models. It's very easy to use. The only thing I can say negative about it was that it didn't come with any instructions, but they were easlily found online. Great value.

Unfortunatly the 2 cameras arrived damaged. Both cameras have the lens filter out of place. I didnt notice the problem untill I had them all set up and ready to use. Amazon promptly sent 2 replacements, they also had the same exact problem.

I think they were probably damaged during shippment. The packaging was minimal. UPS's attitude is "Who cares? its insured". I have received lots of damaged items from UPS.

I got this camera about 18 months ago, and it's been outdoors since the day I got it. For much of that time, it's been in a semi-sheltered place, but for at least a few months it was out in the rain and snow. No problems from the exposure, although the metal latches have started to rust. I've gotten great photos and video at night and in daytime. I prefer video, because the photos can sometimes be blurry if the animal is moving fast. I can get about 85 15-second videos on a 2 GB card, and the rechargeable batteries last for about 2 weeks.

The downsides are that it is a pain to reset the clock every time I change the batteries, and it's not very easy or intuitive to set the time and date. Once the camera inexplicably erased everything on the SD card. The longer I've had it, the slower its trigger seems to be -I'm seeing a lot more videos with nothing in them, so I'm guessing the animal came and went before the camera started recording. And sometimes it shoots in infrared during daylight for no reason that I can tell, which results in a washed-out video. Cleaning the sensor usually helps with that. That's about all the problems I've had with this camera. I've been very pleased with this purchase -I was looking for something relatively cheap but still good quality to see what animals were wandering around near the house, and this fit the bill. I've gotten a lot of entertainment out of it.

I decided on another Pioneer Elite DVD player because the DV-45A that I've enjoyed for several years has worked flawlessly (and still does). The Blu-Ray Elite Player is more than I require... (I will not likely use the Ethernet or USB ports). I have not found a flaw with the BDP-23FD (as I expected, from experience with the DV-45A, which I think is the best "quality/price" for a DVD-A + SACD player glad I have it !).

Picture quality, Audio quality are superb, regardless of media format (plays the home-made variety DVDs just as well as the store bought varieties).

Although it's nice to have 'controllability/customization' features found on this player, the default set-up "out-of-the-box" is perfect for me. It's just a really nice player!

Buy Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD - Blu-Ray disc player - upscaling Now

Unfortunately, this player is not offered at too many places and it seems to mark one of the last of the "true" original Pioneer Elite Blu-Ray models. Apparently Sharp has bought Pioneer and their newer models tend to represent the Sharp styling and internal workings moreso than Pioneer. This is one of the reasons I bought this player as I already own a Pioneer DVD 49-AV which is awesome for a standard upscaling dvd player in its own right. The DV-49 is possibly better at upscaling than the 23FD is, but that is not what I bought it for. I bought this player for its outstanding Blu-Ray picture and quality sound and that is exactly what I got. Let's get the negative out of the way immediately. It does take some time to load, and that is even with CD loading as well as standard dvd and blu-ray. Right out of the box I upgraded the firmware (as directed by Pioneer Elite was simple and painless), and part of that upgrade mentioned faster loading times. Since I didn't compare and upgraded immediately, I wasn't able to measure but I will say that if this upgrade fixed loading times then I can't imagine how long it took to load initially. That being said, the load time is well worth the wait.

I can compare this model for you to the following brands and models that I own or have onwed: Oppo DV983H standard, Panasonic DMP-BD60 blu-ray, Denon BDP-1610 blu-ray, and the Pioneer DV-49av standard dvd player. In the standard / upscaling mode, can this 23FD measure up against the Oppo and the Pioneer players ? Yes to both, although I'd have to give the best upscaling nod to the Pioneer Elite DV-49av player for best overall upscaling player I've ever seen, and I still use this player for upscaling standard dvd discs to this date. I thought the Oppo was the best ever until this player came along. Compared to the other Blu-Ray players, the Pansonic is probably among the best I've ever seen video wise, but in audio, this Pioneer 23FD cannot be beat. The Denon had great sound, but no match for Panasonic or this Pioneer Elite in video quality.

Since the player is no longer manufactured or hardly found anymore, I won't go into the spec comparisons. Suffice it to say that this player is among the best Blu-Ray player I've ever seen or heard, and it upscales wonderfully. The user choices to tweak it alone make this more than worth the price not to mention the gorgeous Blu-Ray picture it provides. I have thrown every movie that has been known to give players problems, and this machine played them with no problem at all. I have the unit hooked up via analog to play my CDs, and HDMI for Blu-Ray / standard DVD. The sound is warm, rich and full. The unit itself is fairly heavy, and lets you know that this is a quality machine outside as well as inside. Pioneer Elite has always been about classy looks as well as performance and this machine excels in both. It is a shame that Pioneer Elite allegedly doesn't make their own players anymore, and that this is one of the last of the "true" Elite players. If you can find one of these players, don't hesitate to grab one. I have not seen or heard a better Blu-Ray player and I can't imagine anyone not being happy with the audio / video quality of this player. If you are an avid fan of great quality, look no further. This Pioneer Elite machine offers it all.

Update: 11/7/12 My unit has developed an error message when you turn the power on that reads "SD Not Found". It flashes and you can't shut it off, you have to unplug the power cord to reset it and hope that it turns on again. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. This problem seems to be common but no one has answers to it. Pioneer never heard of it, and they want me to ship the unit to California at my expense. FIX: Use the remote to turn the power on; works every time. It must be the power button itself that has the problem. Unit still plays fine and gives outstanding picture, I didn't expect it to malfunction this soon.

I just bought one of these players refurbed for 125.00 and they are still available brand new from J&R for 299.00 delivered.

This player easily beats my Samsung 1600 and PS3 for picture quality especially for blacks and contrast which makes the picture look sharper and more accurate.

It also beats the Samsung AND ps3 for audio quality using HDMI to the matching Pioneer Elite SC 35 I recently purchased both with and without PQLS turned on.

This player is quiet , and I have yet to have a playback issue before or after upgrading the firmware via online.

This player has a far better build than the Samsung , and is the best looking BD player I have owned out of 6 players including 1k players from Samsung , Sony , and Phillips first gen players.

If you can get one new or refurbed grab one while you can.

I am very happy with the picture quality on this set. It definitely has the best picture of any of the Blu-ray players I have seen recently. Audio is good as well, though not as good as a Cambridge blu-ray player I heard recently. Of course the Cambridge goes for twice as much.

Very happy with the unit.

I believe this unit was made by Pioneer before they started letting Sharp make them.

Tracfone LG LG800G with Double Minutes for Life!!

Tracfone LG LG800G with Double Minutes for Life!!The LG 800G cell phone is the first touch screen offered by TracFone, and in my opinion, the best TracFone yet offered. But don't look for it on LG's website you won't find it. It is a special prepaid model for TracFone/Net10 only. I don't even find it listed overseas.

I have had mine for about four weeks. It is not a full smart phone, more like half-smart, when compared to something like the iPhone. It doesn't have accelerometers, it doesn't have WiFi, and you only have limited capability to change orientation of the screen.

But at only $50 or less, it is a very good value for the features it does have a very good cell phone -with a music player, HD camera (stills and video), external memory (optional), data cable (optional), a qwerty keyboard app, texting, and included apps for games, alarm clock, stop watch, voice recorder, calendar, memo pad, tasks list, scientific calculator, and World clock. And, you can add hundreds of your own apps, provided they are java apps.

You can surf the internet and access your email and text message all costing you minutes. I personally don't have anything important enough to pay for cell phone internet connect time and downloads. But if you do, you can do it with the LG 800G.

While the external memory (microSDHC card), and USB data cable, are not included, you should consider them essential and buy them. The reason is that it is much cheaper to download apps to your computer and transfer it to the LG 800G by data cable. The data cable must be a USB-typA to a micrUSB-typeB. The data cable can only access the microSD card (external memory) and not the internal memory.

You can also use Bluetooth to connect to a Bluetooth headset, or to transfer files to/from a computer (if it the computer also has bluetooth.) You can set file transfer to be either to internal memory or to external memory.

The LG 800G comes with double-minutes-for-life, and if you catch Home Shopping Network just at the right time, they occasionally have triple-minutes for life. The cost per minute is around ten cents, and even less.

The LG 800G has just too many features to discuss here. You will find the TracFone User guide that comes with the LG 800G to be pretty basic -mostly devoted to activating the phone. You will want to access the TracFone LG 800G on-line Tutorial. There is no link on the TracFone website to the tutorial but you can find it, and the best user forum/blog, by Googling "TracFone LG 800G Tutorial." The top three or four hits should take you to the tutorial and to the Turk Forum LG 800G discussion.

All in all, I very much like the LG 800G, and would recommend it to a friend. My favorite app is the music player, which also has an equalizer and Bass Boost. With a good stereo headset, especially one that also receives calls, it is as good as it gets.

I decided to get a Trackfone because I just can't justify nearly $100 per month from AT&T when a Tracfone would only cost me about $100 per YEAR. This phone does everything and more for me especially since I only use my phone to talk and text message, occassionally check facebook or e-mail online with it, but that's about it. It's the perfect phone, so lightweight, easy to use, easy to see for someone with low vision like me which is perfect, and just neat with the touchscreen capability. Definitely get a cover for it though because without it it is EXTREMELY slippery and easy to drop. Love everything about it otherwise though.

UPDATE: July 14, 2011

After leaving my glowing review a few days later I also began having the texting problem most people seem to have. I was receiving the same message over and over and OVER again and couldn't get any new ones either. I called costumer service and spoke with a very friendly, very helpful woman who reset my text message service and within a couple hours it was up and running again and has been great ever since. I adore this phone and wouldn't want any other as of now. So rest assured that if you do get this phone and IF it did develop the texting problem then it can be easily fixed. I still give it five stars!!!!

Buy Tracfone LG LG800G with Double Minutes for Life!! Now

I got this phone for $40.00 and put a 60 day NET10 card on it to try it out. So far, here are my observations based on how I use the phone. (I don't do texting)

1. Lightweight and size are fine. Phone fits easily into the hand.

2. The 'touch' screen sensitivity is chosen obviously to filter out accidental 'presses' to icons on the screen, but---it filters a little too strongly for my taste and I wish this was adjustable.

3. The camera is said to be a 2mp design, but it does not seem as good as the camera in the LG 900G, which is also a 2mp camera.

4. The camera 'take a shot' button is virtual, not a real button, and I find that this causes some shots to blur, since in trying to 'push' that virtual button, the camera can easily move and you get a blurred shot as a result.

5. There is major shutter lag, so that the pic you see and want to capture might not be what you get, aka, with animals and kids or any kind of action.

6. The phone seems plenty signal sensitive, based on my use of other phones.

7. Battery life is ok, not amazing.

8. From what I got in an email from NET10, the phone needs an external memory card in order for the USB data transfer to work. I decided to use Bluetooth

to avoid putting a memory card into the phone (you hve to remove the back of the phone and take out the battery to see the memory slot)

9. Since I don't do texting I cannot offer an opinion. I have read on other sites that this phone has texting problems and that NET10 is going to fix that problem with an update.

10. Overall, I like the phone, but wish the camera was as good as the one in the LG 900G which I found to be truly excellent. The 900G also has a real shutter button and less lag and images come out less blurred.

It's not a smart phone but for the price and NET10's service plans, it's an excellent value in my view.

Got this for a Net 10 plan and I think this is a fantastic phone. I use it mainly for phone calling and occasionally checking Gmail or Facebook wile I'm away from home. It's not a smart phone but for my use it is perfect especially with a $25 a month 750 minutes a month NET 10 plan. I don't browse on a phone, not even on my iPod touch because phones are too small for browsing the web, I save that for my laptop. No apps on this phone so if you are looking for that, look for a smartphone.

Pros: Size. It fits well in my pocket and isn't as bulky as a Iphone or Blackberry sized phone. Easy to see dialer. Touchscreen. Easy to turn to silent mode and back as well as locking the phone. Nice clock display when in lock mode. Sound quality on calls are excellent. Hasn't dropped a call or missed a voice or text message. Customizable to an extent. MicroSD slot inside. Bluetooth. Sleek looking and slides right into my pocket.

Cons: I think the Bluetooth is just to connect to an earpiece because i couldn't connect to my Ipod. Np biggie. No GPS or Google maps unless you go into browser mode. The touch-pad is not as precise as a Iphone but it still has qwerty features (though not in the default browser). It even has handwriting recognition but i find that slower than the qwerty. I love how easy it is to spell qwerty haha.

All in all a great phone for $39. I had originally purchased the LG 900g but returned it for this one and i am quite pleased. It's poor mans IPhone.

I've recently moved from being a contract cell phone customer to prepaid. My contract with T-Mobile expired some time ago with a shared family plan, two phones, and a 1000 minutes per month for $49.99. Pretty cheap, right? That's what kept me as a customer for quite awhile in that I really couldn't find a better deal. Then I noticed we got dinged 10 cents for every text message somebody sent us (our Motorola Razr's were difficult to text from so just didn't use it). I also couldn't do any wireless web access without paying a big fee. And after taxes and fees we were up to around $64 a month. I also noticed that my wife used the bulk of the minutes while I only occasionally used mine. We thought that if we could get her onto a reasonable plan with lots of minutes and me on a cheap plan with few minutes that would save us some dough.

After doing a ton of research I found that my wife's phone could be moved to a prepaid plan with 1500 mins/texts for $30 a month. After switching the plans I then discovered the Tracfone LG800G at my local Target. I saw from the reviews that many folks liked it a lot while others really hated it mainly due to issues with texting. Not being a big text sender myself, I figured I'd give the phone a shot. After buying it, I went to Tracfone's website to activate it while transferring my existing number. Halfway into the process, the web site went down for "maintenance" UGH. Not a good start. Being patient did pay off about 4 hrs later I was able to complete the number transfer request. I braced myself for the possibility of having no phone at all while the process played out in the systems. An hour later, I saw that my current phone was indicated as "cancelled" at T-mobile's web site PROGRESS! About 20 mins later I logged into Tracfone's web site again and saw that my phone required "updates." After following a long process to enter multiple number sequences into the manual code entry of my phone, it came to life! My number was transferred in a little under 2 hrs from the time I hit submit on the form.

Coming from an old phone like the Razr the LG800G has been amazing! Love the touch screen, the features, and ease of mobile web and messaging. I can easily connect it to my iMac via Bluetooth connection and drop ringtones, wallpapers, and apps onto it. Sure, it doesn't run iOS but that's why I keep an iPod Touch around for (costs a whole lot less, too!). Based on my limited testing, I'd say that Tracfone now has a handle on the texting issues as I've not had any problems with it yet. Sound quality is great, my signal is a lot better around town than I had with my old phone but I can't say if this is just new technology or the fact that I'm now on the AT&T network. I was able to load up the phone with 200 minutes using a 60 min card, the double minutes for life feature and a promo code. This put my cost at about 10 cents a minute if I don't count the out of pocket cost for the phone. If you're looking for a nice feature enhanced touch screen phone in the pre-paid wireless space, you could do a lot worse than this one. I'm completely impressed, so much that I wrote this review and I don't write very many.

Toshiba RD-XS34 DVD Recorder with 160-GB Hard Drive

Toshiba RD-XS34 DVD Recorder with 160-GB Hard Drive
  • DVD recorder and Personal Video Recorder with 160 GB hard drive; measures 17 x 2.5 x 13.25 inches (W x H x D)
  • Interactive Program Guide provides an easy to read listing of the television programs available to view or record
  • Records to DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW; plays CD-R/RW and MP3/WMA digital audio formats
  • One set of component (Y,Pr,Pb), 1 S-Video, and 1 RCA video outputs; Firewire input for connecting to video camcorders
  • High-speed dubbing from the hard drive to disc without any deterioration of digital signal

This recorder offers some of the best features for a DVD recorder. Of special interest is the ability to tailor the bit rate of the recording in very small increments from 2Mb/sec to 8Mb/sec. It has the ability to record LPCM audio. It also allows you to record in Dolby Digital in 2 different bit rates. Overall, this unit offer incredible flexibility for the user. This was a huge selling point for me. It has a very easy interface (which becomes intuitive after a couple of uses) to create menus for DVDs. It's well designed and attractive.

Now for the bad news. A total showstopper: The TV Guide menu system never worked. The manual tells you to go through the set up process, then turn the unit off for 24 hours, avoiding unplugging any connections to the unit. I live in Austin, TX, and get my signals over the air. Reception is excellent in my area. The unit displayed all the available channels. They all came in clearly. But after 24 hours, I turned on the unit to find no program data. I must have done something wrong, so I went through the entire process again, ensuring that I waited 24 hours (this time, just to be safe, I waited 30 hours). I turned on the unit, and again, no data. I tried one more time. No luck. I called Toshiba. They said, "well, if the data doesn't show up, we can't help you".

I would have kept the unit if I could have recorded off the air by setting up schedules manually. The unit REQUIRES the TV Guide program guide. It is the only way that the unit can record TV shows.

Second huge issue for me, regardless of the state of the unit (on/off), the fan in the back of the unit stays on ALL THE TIME. And it's not so quiet. Forget about putting this unit in a small room, because you'll hear it...ALL THE TIME.

Given these two issue, back in the box it went. And here's the really disappointing point...I did my research. This unit has the best features for the price. It has a hefty 160 GB hard drive. It was the perfect unit....almost.

Buy Toshiba RD-XS34 DVD Recorder with 160-GB Hard Drive Now

I purchased the RD-XS32 for my parents last December and was impressed with its capabilities and functionality. So I thought I'd buy the updated version, the RD-XS34 for myself. Huge mistake as many reviewers have already stated.

If you are thinking of purchasing this product, do your homework beforehand:

1) Call your cable/satellite provider and ask if they have a deal with TV Guide to allow their signal to come through their system.

If they don't you'll be purchasing a $500 boat anchor because you cannot set up timer recordings without the TV Guide system. A huge oversight on the part of Toshiba. A huge oversight on the part of TV Guide for not informing Toshiba about this little detail. Toshiba will be getting a lot of these units returned because they didn't inform their customers about TV Guide's limited support.

2) Read other reviews about the reliability of the TV Guide system. This is not the only other unit that has TV Guide and many people have reported some really annoying bugs, such as losing entire program guides and channel preferences, plus recording memory.

3) If your cable company has support for TV Guide and you're willing to risk having some headaches, this unit may be for you.

4) On the other hand, regardless of the TV Guide system, as other reviewers have reported, the fan on this thing is loud and stays on all the time! Turn the unit off, and the fan still runs!

The older RD-XS32 was almost a rock star. Why Toshiba completely got rid of the manual recording features of that unit on the RD-XS34 is beyond my comprehension. Why there is no way to turn off the TV Guide features on the XS34 is also mind boggling, especially when dealing with the very new, not well-tested TV Guide system.

I returned the unit and will not purchase a unit with TV Guide unless they work out the bugs on it and provide a way to download their program information without having to use cable, satellite or telephone. I think TIVO decided to eventually go the LAN route. Maybe TV Guide will in the future.

I will also be hesitant to buy a Toshiba product in the future and you should be too. For the time being, JVC has a unit without TV Guide and you can still pick up the Pioneer DVR-520H without TV Guide. They lack the coolness factor of the on-screen program guide a la TIVO or a working TV Guide, but having used the older Pioneer DVR-510H, I know the system works well without hassle.

My one star rating should be zero but there is no option for that. If the unit had the option of manual timer recording, the star rating might be closer to a four based on my experiences with the XS32, but since I couldn't test any of that, the unit was a $500 boat anchor.

Update: One month after I called Toshiba techincal support (returning the product a week after my call), TV Guide support called to help. Wow! How responsive TV Guide is. If you have a problem with TV Guide, they'll get back to you in a month! No, really, avoid this product.

Please don't put down this recorder when you either are technologically challenged or cannot read the manual. Several people mentioned there is no way to record TV shows unless you use the TV guide, and does not work with satellite. IN THE MANUAL, it explicitly explains how to record shows manually. You can set the device to record at a certain time just like a VCR, at whatever quality you want and whatever medium (DVD or HDD). To record from your satellite, set your satellite receiver to tune to hte appropriate channel, and go into the TV Guide feature. Then, go to schedule, then hit menu twice, and it will bring you to the manual record option. Or READ THE MANUAL! Just wanted to let everyone know.

I think this product is unfairly rated very low by some frustrated users. Actually I could have been one of those who gave only one star, because in the begining, it did not seem to work at all. Now I have owned this machine for over a month now, and I really love it.

I did a fairly complete research before purchase, and among the comparable products from SONY, TOSHIBA, PIONEER and PANASONIC, I chose this one, and I believe I made the right choice. The negative reviews are mostly targeted on the EPG systems. But if you have problems with EPG on XS34, then possibly you will have more headaches with all other manufactures with EPG. Contradictary to what people said, it is quite easy to just use the Time Recording (like you do on VCR) with this unit. It is true that it is not an easy job to manually re-set the clock (and I think Toshiba should consider improve on this), but you do not have to manually re-set. Leave it there for 24 hours and it can pick up the right time through over-the-air broadcast (which is exactly the case I had). I guess it could only be a problem if you live in an area where you do no have any over-the-air broadcasting, in that case, you need to contact the Toshiba support for firmware upgrade.

The DVD recorder is fairly new thing in our life, and fairly complicated compared with VCRs. Most users who complain are the ones who just purchased the product and before they adapted to the new way of operating the machine. Once you become familiar with the unit, you will feel a lot happier and the more you use it, the more you like it. Each product has its strength and weekness, but comparing with the cost and overall quality (picture quality, ease of use, edit function etc), XS34 is a very solid product in my opinion.

This is in response to the problems S. Rys and Dan J. Grams said they were having. (Unfortunately, I don't have their e-mails to answer them directly. Perhaps the good people at Amazon can forward these answers to them.) S. Rys said the it was slow to change channels. It does take a few seconds if you just punch in the channel and wait, but if you punch in the channel and press the "Enter" button, it changes immediately. Now for the much more difficult one. This one wasn't in the instruction manual, I found this quite by accident. Dan J. Grams said he didn't like the fact that you couldn't program a show manually. Well, I found out how to do it. While you have the TV Guide page on, press the "Menu" button on the remote. The "Episode Options" window will appear on the left side of your screen. Move up to and select "Go To Service Bar." You should be at the top of your screen now. Move over to the right until "Schedule" is highlighted and press the "Menu" button on the remote again. The "Schedule Options" window appears on the left side of your screen. Move down until "New Manual Recording" is highlighted and press the "Enter" button. You're there, enter the recording info and enjoy! The only shortfall about doing it this way is it won't name the recording you made the way it does when you use the TV Guide.

Hardware seems to be fine, but we now have nearly a week invested in trying to get the included software to run properly (still no luck). VideoSecu has been worthless, finally formally giving up by saying they won't support the software at all and we're on our own. Manuals are written in English by non-English-speaking writers and they are a nightmare. For instance, once you change settings in one area there is no option to save those settings. Hours later we accidentally figured out that they labelled the "save settings" button as "setup". The software and manuals are riddled with this crap. Our advice is to find a company with a full support structure and a history of support. You'll be glad you did.

For he price this lil player is great. Folds nicley into a tablet style screen. Has good display and the sound is decent. Would give it a 5 star but the case that it comes with is very cheap. Ripped it beyond use first time I hooked it up. Otherthan that great product.

This is the first time I've ever bought anything used online. I must say that I am QUITE PLEASED with this. As promised

it plays like new and continues to do so months after purchase and constant use. KUDOS!

Flylink Watch DVR - HD 1080P Night Vision Waterproof Video Recording 16GB Internal Memory. The company is useless. As everyone, the instruction is translated on Google, and they printed it. Their products are very cheaply made but they want to sell it directly in US market through Amazon and make the direct profit. But, their product does not stand up to the US market standard, and specially not having office or support in US. The worst part you cannot return their products for a refund. The pictures look great, but their product actually only suitable for the dollar store. Amazon should let all these factories sell their crap to US customers....

I got this for more than a week, i was giving it time to see if i could figure out the problems this product have, but enough is enough, and i have to say the product is garbage, the video quality is horrible, the video comes out with a strange color... and i hava the night vision off so thats not the problem with the color... i only manage to get a few videos out of it afther decoding the manual book as it is in horrible english aswell..... i am a person who really needs something like this for security, and i should have not aim at cheap product to do the job.... i took the watch for a test... i left it connected to the computer all night downloading the videos i took... and not a single video came out of it, saying they have errors....

Motorola V505 Unlocked Cell Phone--U.S. Version with Warranty (Blue)

Motorola V505 Unlocked Cell Phone--U.S. Version with WarrantyMotorola has done well with their triplets series phones and the v505 is no exception. Like the v600, v400 and v300 the v505 offers great features in its clamshell design. Exterior has a great look and feel to it with the rubber like feel on the outer rim and nice looking dimpled metal plate. Outer lcd shows time when not in use and caller ID when recieving a call. Ring styles can also be changed without having to open the phone. This feature can also be locked to prevent accidently changing ring styles. Inner screen has great color, something Motorola has always done well with. Its 176x220 size screen is great for displaying your favourite wallpaper or scrolling thru the various menu options. Menu options are typical Motorola layout that unless you are used to take a little bit of patience as Motorola manuals are never comprehensive or easy to follow. The camera is not bad for quick 'moment' pictures but do not rely on it for those family vacation pictures. Call quality and signal reception is great but will have a lot to do with where you are located. With the right software, pictures and MP3 songs can be downloaded into the phone and bluetooth makes this even easier. Used along with a bluetooth headset the phone is advanced as they come. The Speaker-phone is loud and clear and works well if you want to put the phone down while on a call. Battery life depends on how you use the phone but has been good for me.

Overall a great phone by Motorola. Glad Amazon finally released the unlocked/unbranded version to this phone originally only offered by AT&T. Just pop in your SIM card and the phone is ready to use.

This phone is nothing speical but as a phone it is perfect. Great battery life, reception, and easy to use. It much better than the v300 (clow interface) and v551 (short battery life, bad button placement) I had. I puchased the unlocked phone to use with Cingular and had no problems. The v505 is a great phone for people who want to make phone calls with a few nice features (like bluetooth).

Buy Motorola V505 Unlocked Cell Phone--U.S. Version with Warranty (Blue) Now

The phone is very good. It feels comfortable, it has great reception, good signal. It's almost everything I was hoping for. But, it definitely has some issues for me. First, the battery. I can't get it to last what the phone promisses. Second, the side buttons when the phone is closed, are used to change the ringing or vibrating mode. They cannot be blocked by any means, and if you carry your phone in your pocket as I do, they keep pressing themselves and changing the mode. The third thing that annoys me is the address book. There's no way to search inside it, you can only scroll. When you have a lot of names, it becomes pretty annoying. But besides all this, the phone is excellent and I recommend it to anyone who wants a sturdy, easy to use, excellent clarity phone. Bluetooth is a breeze, surfing the web also, configuring all the services is very easy. Just buy it with the 3 little things in mind.

This phone worked great for first 8 months but now I am unable to charge the battery. I got a new charger also, but that did not help. I read similar problems with Motorola phones on internet.

Secondly, the voice reception is not so good. When I took to this to Cingular, they asked me to get a Nokia because that has a very good reception.

So in a nutshell, I was bowled over by its looks when I bought it but next phone will definitely be Nokia.

Zmodo DVR-DK1690-1TB 16-Channel annel H.264 Surveillance CCTV Security DVR Camera System

Zmodo DVR-DK1690-1TB 16-Channel annel H.264 Surveillance CCTV Security DVR Camera SystemI have to say that I am very pleased with this system. I bought it to protect my small business and it does just that! I would honestly say that the quality of these cameras is comparable (if not better) to the $1000+ system I purchased from an installer prior to this one. The night vision works great and the weatherproof cameras just feel like they are built to last. Its a good investment and I LOVE that I can use the remote viewing feature from my iPhone as this allows me to keep tabs on my building regardless of where I am at. The setup of this system is very simple (I did it by myself and am not a professional). Only thing I couldn't do myself is set up the remote viewing. I had to call tech support to have them help me out but they had this up and running within 20 minutes or so. They were very nice and very knowledgeable. They even gave me tips on how to use the pan/tilt/zoom functions of the cameras after describing to them my building and what areas I was trying to get a good view on. Thanks Zmodo for offering a quality product at a good price while still treating your customers with dignity and respect. I will most definitely keep you in mind for future security purchases!!!

Sony DVP-SR320 All Multi Region Zone Code Free DVD Player Plays DVD's with USB Input 110/240 Volt (

Sony DVP-SR320 All Multi Region Zone Code Free DVD Player Plays DVD's with USB Input 110/240 VoltI bought this to replace a Philips DVP5990 player which had quit working. This model plays USB drives, a feature I wanted.

I like this player a lot. It is smaller than the Philips, seems more solid, and accepts and releases disks more quickly. My wife thinks the picture is better. I think the sound is better. The remote is sturdier, and operates more easily and from a greater distance than the Philips without requiring that you point directly at the unit. The remote operated our Sony TV set without requiring any adjustments from me. I find this convenient sometimes for turning on the TV or changing the TV input to be our receiver. The remote will operate TVs from other manufacturers also.

The player is very small. You will probably not be putting another piece of equipment on top of it. There are controls and display lights on the top surface of the player, at the front right. I like this placement.

There are two negatives in comparison to the Philips: 1) there is no display, so you must bring up the control menu on the TV screen to know what track you are on and how much time is left; and 2) when you are playing from the USB drive, the unit shows only a single-level display of folders, regardless of what kind of hierarchy you've created on the USB drive. This second item is a significant issue for me. However I can't see deducting a star for this, in view of the major virtues of the drive and the very low price.

The package included two power adapters that work in U.S. sockets. Apparently one of the other reviewers did not receive these. It's too bad he rated the player so low because of this, when the problem was not with the player itself.

Since this is a Sony I'm expecting it to have a nice long life.

I picked this up from Worldwide Distributors, so I can't vouch for other Marketplace sellers.

In saying that, this DVD player is brilliant. The size and weight are smaller than I'd expect from Sony, but the quality is all there.

A snap-on North American power adapter was included in the box, so getting this set up was pretty simple. As someone else pointed out, the default menu language appeared to be Spanish (maybe Portuguese?) but switching it in to English only took a minute. From there, I was able to easily change the default 4:3 configuration to 16:9 and make a couple of other tweaks.

Since this is just composite-out, you can't really expect upscaling or a near-HD experience. However, I found that the picture quality was excellent on domestic discs, and absolutely trounced the older Philips region-free player I've been using. In fact, this is the first region-free DVD player I've had that displays R2 discs from the UK in what appears to be a "normal" framerate and without jagged edges or other quality problems.

I seriously would have been happy if I had paid twice the price for this. If you're in the US and need to play imported DVD's, this is a no-brainer.

Great little Multi Region DVD player. Simple to set up and comes with American adapter. Instructions and display is in Spanish but it doesn't matter because it is so simple to hook up and use. So far I have been able to play DVD-R's and Pal format DVD's with no problems at all. Highly recommended.

The only thing I have to add is that a downloadable English language manual is available from Sony's Asian support site (but not the U.S. website):

Enjoy...

Safety Technology HC-STICK Stick Hidden Camera with Built-in DVR and Audio

Safety Technology HC-STICK Stick Hidden Camera with Built-in DVR and AudioI am still not sure enough as of yet and still trying out. The size is slim and small like a remote. The little I did tape worked well. The instructions were a little hard to follow and not large print or a easy read. The price was great. I may order another item like it, that I can do more with. You need to be able to film outdoors and inside but not have it be noticed. If your trying to catch someone doing something they should not be or hidden security. Amazon the place to look. They are nifty that way.

SwissGear LEGACY E-Reader Case - 6" x 1" x 8.5" - Polyester - Black

SwissGear LEGACY E-Reader Case - 6' x 1' x 8.5' - Polyester - BlackMy girlfriend and I both purchased these for our iPad2's at the same time and they both have held up through our daily use and fit perfectly in our backpacks. Even though this product doesn't say it's meant for iPad or iPad2 they still fit them perfectly and with the front zipper on the outside you can put your USB dock/charger cable along with the wall outlet charge adapter, a stylus, and even the HDMI output convert cable for iPad2's all inside of this little pouch without even filling it still. The inside of both the front pocket and the inside pocket have a very soft lining that protects it's contents and with the outside also a soft padding it will not scratch anything it's laying up again (for instance inside of a backpack). There isn't anything bad to say about this case! We both love it and we probably will not be buying a new case for the life of our iPad2's and beyond because there is no need for another external case.

Waterproof ACQUA WP6800 ( Black ) UnderWater Digital Camera Video recorder 18MP Max.

Waterproof ACQUA WP6800 UnderWater Digital Camera Video recorder 18MP Max.When I first got the camera I was thinking that it was a little flimsy. However, when I took it snorkeling and got some great pics of my boys swimming with the turtles, I was very impressed! It takes very clear photos and is small and lightweight! I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting an underwater camera for a trip that is inexpensive!

The camera seemed more substantial than I expected...but I could NOT get the compartment open for the battery/memory stick. I think the latch was defective but unusable so returned it immediately.

Transcend 4 GB Class 6 microSDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GUSDHC6

Transcend 4 GB Class 6 microSDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GUSDHC6I specifically ordered this memory card for my Blackberry Curve 8330 with two goals in mind.

1: Store videos and music on my phone

2: Expanded memory for applications and documents

On both counts I have not been let down! This card is wicked fast when it comes to file transfers via the Blackberry software. I had expected, indeed planned, for a bit of a "hit" when using the RIM software to expedite file transfers (play lists, music, and videos) but if there is one I am not seeing it.

The included adapter is a handy add on bonus as I do have quite a few microSD cards lying around and can now use those for other devices that accept SD cards.

Oh, and it IS a Class 6 card.

I purchased this 8GB Class 6, upgrading from an 8GB Class 4, because I needed the faster read/write speeds on my cell phone.

After installing it, I immediately noticed a faster response in the data transfer speeds. My ringtones, music, and pictures loaded faster, even when receiving a call.

I recommend upgrading to the Class 6 to anyone wanting/needing fast transfer rates.

The data transfer rates of SD Cards are:

(Read Speed of a Standard CD-ROM = 150 kb/s)

Class 2 (Equivalent to ~13x the read speed of a Standard CD-ROM) 2 MB/s

Class 4 (Equivalent to ~26x the read speed of a Standard CD-ROM) 4 MB/s

Class 6 (Equivalent to ~40x the read speed of a Standard CD-ROM) 6 MB/s

So, as you can see, the Class 6 is approximately 50% faster than a Class 4.

I own 6 micro SDHC cards which I use to store a variety of images and files for access on a number of devices. I have 4 Transcend Micro SDHC 16gb cards which are clearly the fastest (data transfer, class 6) and most reliable cards that I have used.

My overall view of the Transcend MicroSD card is that the product itself is good; however, the adapter that comes with it is not HC compatible. I have contacted Transcend directly about this shortfall and they are replacing the adapters as we speak. I do not blame the vendor that sold the card as the package was sealed and it was not a pirated version of the product. There are many different products available through the Amazon website that are also not HC compatible but sold with high capacity markings. If I were to purchase more cards from Amazon.com I would ensure the vendor tested the functionality with HC cards before I ordered them or allowed them to be shipped to me. I suggest dealing direct wth the manufacturer for these VERY FAST MicroSD Cards as they are now available directly on their website.

I can confirm that this is a class 6 8gb card. I bought for $16.99 and couldn't be happier. It's working perfectly with my T-Mobile G1. I highly recommend this product.
